A recent trend has found many MMOs and online multiplayer games adopting a free to play marketing strategy. Companies discovered they can increase their piggy banks if they do away with monthly subscriptions fees and instead charge for in-game treasures.
The initial reaction is positive. Who doesn’t love a free game? But some loyal fans are crying foul.
