R18+: Australian Attorneys-General to go it alone

GamePron: Australia is just a day away from finding out whether or not an R18+ adult rating for video games is likely in the near future, and the politicians involved aren’t making things easy for us.

Both the South Australian Attorney-General John Rau and his ACT counterpart Simon Corbell have said they will “go it alone” on the topic, but that they will do it in very different ways.

How is the video game ratings run down there??

Mandatory, government-run classification board. Maximum rating (at the moment) is Mature Adult, which is legally restricted to people 15 years and over. If a game's unsuitable for a 15 year old, it's effectively banned from sale, advertising etc in Australia.
