It was recently announced that the action-RPG The Cursed Crusade would debut at $40 US instead of the typical full retail price of $60. My initial reaction to this was "Great, that probably means the game isn't any good." But I thought further on it as I am wont to do and quickly realized that the less I pay for a game, the more likely I am to buy. And when I pay less I definitely expect less from the game; when that is the case I tend to enjoy it more. Maybe it is a symptom of playing lots of games and having to look at them as a critic instead of always just playing for whatever pleasure I can get, but I think I can say based on comments around the interwebs that in each hardcore gamer there is also a critic.
