If you want to participate in the Closed Alpha Trial for Battlefield 3, make sure you meet the requirements. DICE also published first official system specs for the trial. Check the story!
Tried it, said I don't meet the criteria?! I own every single BF game and expansion, across five systems. Damn.
Does your EA-Account have at least three of the Battlefield PC games registered (Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142 und Battlefield: Bad Company 2). Do you receive the newsletter?
The newsletter!! DAMMIT. Thanks, I'll get right on that.
feels good to help =) Good luck dude!
where is the newsletter, on google i keep getting europe and gamespy battlefield.
if anyone has a key they don't want i'll gladly buy it for $10 via paypal
My question is: can I have the veteran status for 360? I have played and registered BF: BC, BF: BC2, and Battlefield 1943. I'm signed up for the newsletter, and my computer can for sure handle it..
You are not really a veteran when you only played BC1 BC2 and 1943. Play BF2, 1942 for pc.
Same problem. Sucks because I owned 1942 (and the secret weapons dlc :D) and vietnam (old school one) on my pc but that was back in middle school. No idea what the account name was. Now I have also owned Battlefield 2 on on the original xbox and the 360, bad company 1 on my ps3 and 360, and 1943 on my 360. I also purchased bad company 2 for my ps3 and then my 360 eventually and just recently picked it up for my pc. Also own the vietnam dlc on my ps3 and pc. The only battlefield I missed out on was 2142 and that is because I didn't have a decent enough pc to run it at the time. I think I deserve to be in the alpha :(
I just woke up and had an email inviting me in, sweeeet. Sadly as part of the agreement I am not allowed to post my thoughts about it outside of the official forum, so shhhh, I dont wanna lose their trust :-) Lvl 4 veteran ;-) edit:@King_Kai - Can't say, I havent downloaded it yet! I'm stuck at work for now!
haha good or bad and we'll say no more. go on
man i wish i met the criteria. and I'm a higher veteran ranking than you. i own 1942 but that was forever ago and i could never find the key code anymore, so i could never add the game. :( i think i deserve it.
I already know it wont run on my PC lol.
wrong place, delete post please...
tried it, meet the system requirements, didn't get it.
Weird. My system is more than able to handle the requirements. I'm veteran status 5. I'm subscribed to the newsletter. No go. *shrug* I guess I'm playing in September.
lvl 5 here as well. You'll probably be sent an invite through e-mail (if you get picked as not all veterans are in the alpha) before it lets you through to the site. I'm guessing this is done to ensure people don't just sell keys as they'd need the key + email/password.
im gonna give this a go!!! all i need is the news letter!!! xD
CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A LINK TO TEH NEWS LETTER???? PLEASE
"WE'RE SORRY - YOU DON'T MEET THE CRITERIA TO ENTER THIS SITE." I beg to differ! I have: - Veteran status 6 - Newsletter - Exceeded The System Requirements - Installed Origin I don't understand why I shouldn't be in the Alpha Beta.
Yep! My pc can play this but wow, this is the first game I've seen where a quad core is recommended! :o
There are a few others, Deus EX:HR being one. Remember that is just recommended, not required specs.
Well 8 core CPUs hit the market this year so its about time. I am looking forward to the new FX line 8 core Bulldozer AMD system. I am jumping for joy waiting for some benchmarks. It is a stress test setup though for an alpha build. Well they need some powerhouse players to test the engine while they optimize it piece by piece. Likely final requirements will be a little lower.
EA Sucks!!! Yeah... I do not fit the critetia also... :(
ITS ASSASIAN CREED ALL OVER AGAIN ONLINE DRM AND YOU NEED 64BIT OS THIS GAME WILL BE CRAP ON PC. before anyone says who use's 32bit os's well wake the f up it cost $300 for 64bit os's and BF3 IS 1 OF FEW PC 64BIT GAMES. DRM+64BIT REQUIREMENT= LOW SALES PISS OFFED GAMERS. here are the specs - OS: Windows 7 or Vista (SP1) - Installed: Origin- CPU: [email protected] - RAM: 4 GB or more - Hard Drive: 7.25 GB of free disk space - Video: 512 MB or greater DirectX compatible 10 or 11 card with latest drivers (5.11 or later AMD, nVidia 275.33 or later)- Sound: DirectX compatible 10 or 11 card - Internet: broadband connection SO NOW WHO IS GOING TO BUY A $300 OS UPGRADE OR A $800 GAME RIG? I HAVE MORE THINGS TO DO WITH MY $300 THEN TO SUPPORT DRM.OH AND VERY FEW PEOPLE KNOW HOW TO BUILD PC'S SO PLS STFU ABOUT THAT TY.
You know, 64bit comes with all Windows 7 installations.
DAMMIT YOUR CAPS LOCK IS BROKEN TOO???
Umad bro? U fucking mad?
i paid $100 for my 64 bit windows 7. i highly doubt these are final system reqs. the point of the alpha test is to make sure servers run properly (as opposed to balancing the game itself, which they'll do in the beta), so they probably need tester rigs to be above a certain threshold. i'd ignore anything about system reqs until the beta in september.
Bet you anything these are recommended not minimum spec. Oh and for the record my old rig plays games fine that states it needs better than a E6600 (core 2 duo) with a old dx10 4870 ive not come across 1 game i cant run yet. But thats my old comp. I reckon i can run this at min spec. And very high with my new rig.
I just hope 3GB of Ram can cut it for now... till I get a new PC! everything else im fine. Quad Core at 2.4Ghz and my GPU GTX 460 1gb
sounds like you and i have the same gpu and cpu, army. you using an i5? i was able to crank mine up to 4.2ghz with no issues. those things like it rough. i kind of jumped the gun upgrading to 8gb of RAM though, i kind of wish i had waited for the super fast and uber-overclockable dimms to come down in price.
I paid $27 for my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit OS. Thanks Microsoft for the student discount!
