LOL

Nathan Fillion is a bit of a basket case.

BubbleSniper4663d ago

destruction shall befall you for murmuring such blasphemy

Lucreto4662d ago

I meant it as a complement.

Misterhbk4663d ago

They have the potential to make some amazing movies here. I really hope they don't screw this up.

Lucreto4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

"I think that once we finish it, then we’ll go to actors and see who’s available and who’s right for the parts."

Thats good to hear. Russell mustn't of gotten too far into the screenplay since it was only a few weeks from the announcement that he was directing and that he already had Wahlberg cast as Drake.

It would seem Drake in the screenplay would be based more off Wahlberg and his strenghts than we would expect from the Drake we all know and love.

BitbyDeath4663d ago

"Mainly we’re beginning from scratch and going back to the videogame."

Oh hell yes.
Neil Burger is already a million times better than the previous director.

This movie may be decent afterall!

After nearly 18 years, finally there's a videogame movie that has one.

WhiteLightning4663d ago

Emily Rose says she wants to do it and if she wants to do it I bet that Nolan would want to do it aswell, I mean if Emily "did" get the role then it's only fair for Nolan and Richard to aswell

As long as they get big stars as the villains then where fine for promotional stuff. Get Nolan on a strict bulk up/diet plan and some make up and we'll be good to go

I think Uncharted fans should be putting Nolan before Fillion even if Fillion is more known, it shouldn't matter Nolan IS Drake and he should be our first choice.

BitbyDeath4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

I don't think the characters have to be a 100% match, i'd easily be just as happy with someone like David Boreanaz or even the likes of Brad Pitt to play as him.

I'm sure there are a ton of good actors out there that could do justice to the role of Drake, i'm just glad Mark Wahlberg is finally out of the picture as he had nothing at all in common with Drake, build/look/energy/humour etc

VelvetHammer4663d ago

God i thought i was the only one that thought david boreanaz was a good fit. Grant he aint treasure hunting in bones but his character totally meets the profile and he pulls it off.

Baka-akaB4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

Emily Rose is a proven talent on screen ... Nolan north on screen is truly forgettable and average . You'd only remember him because a fan of his VA work .

So no , picking Emily Rose is far from a yes to North .

WhiteLightning4663d ago

Hollywood used to take chances based on if the actor was good enough for the part why don't they just give him a chance.

Admit it, it would be weird to see Emily Rose as Elena appear alongside someone else as Drake who isn't Nolan North

I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying people need to give him a chance. Most of the actors today we praise used to be nobodys but people/hollywood give them a chance and now they entertain us in films.

Baka-akaB4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

I dont find it weird actually , so no i've got nothing to admit . Emily Rose has proven herself on screen so far . Nolan hasnt period despite multiple tentative over quite many years . Sure he didnt get a chance to lead a movie or a tv show , but if he made such an impression he most likely would have by now .

Again being a great VA is already an incredible feat in itself , and i love the man for it . But it doesnt mean he'd be great on screen unfortunately

mantisimo4662d ago

Since when is it a given that Elena is even going to be in this film? I'd like her to be but...?

MrSpace4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

"and isn't even thinking about casting Nathan Fillion yet"

"Will he listen to the internet fervor to cast Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake?"

Nathan Fillion this Nathan Fillion that, I'm sick to death of hearing his name and the Uncharted film in the same sentence. Even if theres a very slim chance we could get the voice actors how do we know if we don't try. People always say the same thing "Because Fillion is more known then any of the voice actors"...SO, if your putting all this effort into getting Fillion the role how about we think about the poor guy who wants his big break in acting, the guy who brought Nate to life...Nolan North. It's like people are just being sheep now with this Nathan Fillion idea. As Whitelightning has said above Emily Rose wants to do it so it's a good sign right...if she got picked then I'm sure Nolan would want to follow.

Guys come on, don't just follow the leader. Nolan North would be a better choice then Nathan Fillion, he should be our second choice.

Why does no one mention in interviews "Hey do you know Nolan North could act Drake out"...come on man :|

Baka-akaB4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

Again Nolan North isnt worth much on screen unfortunately . Does many people even know that he featured in popular series such as Modern family , Pretty Little Liars , CSI miami , Big love , and hell even some Melrose Place , JAG and six feet under , without making any kind of lasting impression ?

Seems to me he's had plenty chance to display acting chops and hasnt made it for a reason , or various ones .

Some people are great VA , but not necessarily great for the screen . On screen Fillion is a better proven actor and got the very lasting impressions that nolan never got .

MrSpace4663d ago

Well I disagree.....

Why because you say so, that he isn't good. He chose VA over acting so we never got to see much of him on TV so I don't know how you've seen it but for gods sake, LOOK at the behind the scene videos of Uncharted, they ACT out all the scenes. Nolan would be MILES better then Fillion because he knows what he's doing, he's acted out the scenes, he's worked with Emily and he knows how to be Drake. He had plenty of choices....erm nope, as I've said he chose to do VA over acting.

"On screen Fillion is a better proven actor and got the very lasting impressions that nolan never got ."

and how do you know, it's not like Nolan was in a TV series like Firefly is it so you don't know what he's like as a main character in a tv series. This isd the problem people assume that he's no good because he does VA, this is Uncharted if they act out the scenes then they know what they are doing.

Nolan is capable and it's people like you who keep shooting down comments when someone mentions Nolan (or any other person) as Drake over Fillion. Sorry but Nolan all the way.

Baka-akaB4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

You do really Fillion started as a nobody too ? like everyone else ? At some point he made a big enough impression to be given a lead role .

I'm not even promoting FIllion over North for the role here by the way . Just pointing out that he's got a better resume and charisma on screen so far . Enough to get a regular part on a few shows after his debuts and them lead roles .

While north landed mediocre roles and hasnt shone at it either .

"we never got to see much of him on TV so I don't know how you've seen it"

He had quite a few tv ones , with small parts . I just once upon a time looked imdb for some list , and remembered a few of them afterward . At the very least i've seen some of his acting and can judge a bit (quite unlike people screaming "he's the only drake' based on the game alone) ? Fair enough ?

But you know What ? feel free to believe i dont like North and wanna shoot him down

MrSpace4663d ago

"You do really Fillion started as a nobody too ? like everyone else ? At some point he made a big enough impression to be given a lead role

Nolan North did bits and bobs but he never tried and failed to get into a big part he just chose to do VA instead.

" Just pointing out that he's got a better resume and charisma on screen so far . Enough to get a regular part on a few shows after his debuts and them lead roles . "

Better resumee, better charisma, how can you say that when this is the one perfect lead role for Nolan he obviously has charisma because he is Drake, he's the character that they are looking for and better resumee, so that makes him a better actor does it....erm nope it dosen't, because like I said Nolan never chose to do something else so that's why Fillions is better because Nolan did something else. It would be differen't if Nolan tried and failed.

"While north landed mediocre roles and hasnt shone at it either"

Maybe he just wanted whatever was thrown at him, this was when he was doing VA still so again I bet his was fine with the way he worked then, so he probably chose the small parts.

"At the very least i've seen some of his acting and can judge a bit (quite unlike people screaming "he's the only drake' based on the game alone) ? Fair enough ?"

Because he is the only Drake, he's not just a VA who comes and goes after he's finished he's acts each scene otu and brought life to the character we've all fell in love with. Those small parts mean nothing because we havent seen him in anything big yet but the Uncharted film is something he would be able to do no problem

"But you know What ? feel free to believe i dont like North and wanna shoot him down "

I will because it's obvious your just another Fillion fanboy. Pointing out stupid points that Nolan is "in your world" not right for the part. How can you say someone isn't right for the aprt when the guy acts the scenes out AS the character most people want him to do in a live action role.

Baka-akaB4663d ago (Edited 4663d ago )

"I will because it's obvious your just another Fillion fanboy."

And now it's obvious you are just being a crazed North fanboy . Hence the cue to further give up . Again feel free to accuse me of being obsessed with Fillion over a movie , i'm not even sure i wanna see made for various reasons , like the O russell debacle .

I dont see the same talent North displays in VA , actually even for LOTS of small parts in games , being shown in his screen roles . Again sue me .

Nor do i believe Fillion would even be picked up given his age and him being attached to multiple commercials failure on both tv and theaters . Not to mention Holywood's taste sometimes as seen with Wahlberg for the part . I'd actually vote for Bradley Cooper as mentioned down below .

Congrats you won , keep on winning sir .

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."

It's about retirement...oh wait

UNCHARTED2FANATIC902d ago (Edited 902d ago )

I cant even say what the point was its easily the worst story in the series. The online was a whole lot of fun though but overall doesn't come even close to 2

porkChop902d ago (Edited 902d ago )

It was a step back for sure. Personally, I thought even the MP was way better in U2. Solid game, glad I played it. I just think they didn't push as hard as they did with U2.

UNCHARTED2FANATIC897d ago

Yes both the online and story was better in 2 no doubt

Flewid638902d ago

The "young Drake" portion was pretty top notch, story-wise. But yeah, everything outside of that I felt was inferior.

DanielEndurance902d ago

Villains were all over the place in this… one second they wanted Drake dead, the next they needed him, then they want him dead again, then they coulda killed him, but poisoned his friend instead, then coulda shot him again, but had brunch with him, then needed him alive, then coulda mowed him down, but decided to kill him by fire and let him escape… Uncharted 2 was way better. 😅😅

slowgamer902d ago

=D Sounds crazy. I don't remember any of that. Played it on ps3 and I remember thinking that why was this game so bashed compared to second one. I liked it.

Chocoburger901d ago (Edited 901d ago )

Another thing that annoyed me about UC3 events was the agent Talbot teleporting around Turkey. It just felt off to me, and made no sense.

Also, for about one third of the game, you go on a wild goose chase to rescue Sully, who wasn't even there to be rescued, and you end up back where you started again. There was simply no pay off for all the events you go through, so it fell flat in that regard as if they couldn't figure out how to make the game longer, so they decided to side-track you to do something with no pay off, hoping you wouldn't notice due to all the incredible action set pieces they made.

Overall though, even with its flaws, I still enjoy the game.

TheEnigma313902d ago

This was actually my least favorite in the series. Didn't have that same impact that part 2 set.

Flewid638902d ago

Uncharted 2 is the pinnacle of the series (to me).

Granted, 4 had the best story in my opinion, but 2 was the overall best game.
