It is an amazing game and it deserve everything it gets.

Cereal2323d ago

Infamous 1 was better. Infamous 2 just felt too repetitive and they ruined Cole's look & voice in the game on top of tacking on an online feature that isn't good at all.

At this point I think it would be almost impossible to make Infamous 3 worse than Infamous 2.

BakedGoods2323d ago

Agreed. While I did enjoy the game, it's no where near what Infamous 1 was.

Third time's the charm, right?

manman62323d ago

@Cereal
I have to disagree with you Infamous 2 is better than the first one. Plus I felt the first one was more repetitive than the second one.

his voice is changed. THEY CLEARLY SAID, that this time around, they wanted to do mo cap for Cole. The original VA DID NOT have the body for that. That is why they hired Eric Ladin to do the VA. They needed someone who had roughly the same body type and sounded close to the original Cole. Also, they wanted Cole to look like a real human being when he spoke. That's why they had to change his face. His face in the first InFamous was not proportional to a realistic human face, making facial animations look awkward in Infamous 1.

As for the gameplay, InFamous 2 offered FAR MORE mission variety than InFamous. There were all the random events, the wide variety of side missions and because the morality choices actually offered different missions, you had a legitimate reasons to replay the game. Add to that the amazing UGC missions the community is constantly making

Infamous 1 is better, cole acted believably had a better voice actor and the story was easier to follow

There was only one thing they truly did wrong in inFamous 2: the lightning hook was given at the end of the game. That power literally changed the feel of the whole game and you can't use it till about 2 hours before it finishes.

Had they gave it, inFamous 2 wouldn't have felt so much like inFamous 1 (not a bad thing but people complained).

Other than that, great all around game. One of the best of the year.

Can someone answer this for me I always wonder about this.

How much exactly does Sony make off every game they sell? Games cost 60 bucks, 60 multiplied by that sales figure would equal a little over 22 million. The sale figure sounds low but that's a shat load of money.

kaveti66162322d ago

@reservoirdog

By lightning hook do you mean a rope that allowed the player to pull himself to high places with ease?

I didn't play the game, I saw the power on youtube.

If I'm thinking of what you're saying then you are right. That ability would have been much more appreciated and useful had it been available during the beginning of the title.

ReservoirDog3162322d ago

@ kaveti6616

Yeah that's the one. It changes how the whole game feels and just feels perfect. Then the game ends.

Lucky people who got that early with the preorders and collector's edition.

Still though, it is a very good game.

Over 50 million PS3 owners are missing out on a amazing game.

Naw; it's a good game, not an amazing one.

Apotheosize2323d ago

Why didnt this sell more? Damn shame.

Blaze9292323d ago

was hyped like crazy but who knows. PS3 exclusive software sales numbers never really made any sense to me anyway.

But yeah inFAMOUS 2 was a great game. Actually played through both sides immediately after beating the evil karma story. It's rare I play any game twice RIGHT after beating it the first time.

JEW_UNIT2322d ago

It was the same way for me when I played Infamous 1. Played through the first path (evil) on Hard...And as soon as the final cutscene showed, I started on the other path (good)

clearelite2322d ago (Edited 2322d ago )

They have too many games coming out and they are too expensive to develop and market every one heavily. If they wanted it to sell more first month, they would spend more money on marketing. They are happy with the current trend of PS3 exclusives selling well over a long period of time anyway.

Uncharted 3 will be marketed rather heavily though it seems.

heck, a lot of their exclusives from years ago are still selling....

btw, 350k is pretty good for one month.

it's actually 369.2K, best selling game in June.

testerg352322d ago

Selling in the long term isn't the same as selling a lot right away. $60 now vs what $29.99 or something a year later.

JEW_UNIT2322d ago (Edited 2322d ago )

I know what you mean. I spent atleast 60 hours on the first Infamous (with all the sidequests and free roaming between the two paths) and my collectors edition of the 2nd is coming tomorrow...It's unfortunate people don't support innovative and new IPs....They just want the same old shooter :(. I am not saying 350K+ is bad, but people need to start supporting new fun IPs.

I was hooked on Infamous 1 by the trailers and I didn't regret my purchase either. *sigh* :(

Making excuses tend to never go over well but it's not the best time of year for a release. Kids are out of school and busy enjoying the holidays and warm weather. Some of course have started jobs and I think early/mid October would of been better.

I think all games need a serious multi-player or co-op component to sell better. There have been exceptions but if you want full price, you need to add some sort of value. I can't believe the L.A Noire numbers. I will never buy one of those mo-cap games again.

The holidays would of given the game a boost and when kids are in school, word of mouth helps push the game. Bungie and M$ always did well right at the beginning of a school year...give the kids something to talk about and of course the multi-player is about as solid as there is.

AridSpider2323d ago

but under 376,300 at the same time...seeing as those were Duke's numbers - across three platforms. /justsayin

Spenok2320d ago

Thats an interesting fact. Didnt know that. Thanks for the info :D

consolez_FTW2323d ago (Edited 2322d ago )

I am glad to support Sucker Punch by being one of the people who bought this game!
EDIT: Can't believe I put Insomniac wtf was I thinking. First time I've been embarrassed on N4G :/
thanks for correcting me.

JEW_UNIT2323d ago (Edited 2322d ago )

Good you support Insomniac but this game was made by Sucker Punch.

EDIT: No problem...I've seen people give credit to Naughty Dog as well. Even though these two companies did help in some way(as they all help eachother).

bloodybutcher2323d ago

good game.unfortunately i could not contribute to sale numbers, had to rent it...
