Splitkick - The Faustian Bargain

Splitkick: Back in 2004, Microsoft struck a deal with Electronic Arts prior to the launch of the Xbox 360. At the time, EA was the biggest in the business and were threatening to not support the online aspect of the fledgling Xbox under a single condition: They wanted a backdoor in Xbox Live to tie into their own stuff. Considering that every Xbox 360 title is required to be “Live Enabled”, that would mean no EA titles on the system. This caveat was granted to them but here we are 7 years later, and it’s biting everyone in the ass.
