VGW Review: Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

VGW: For many years, Dynasty Warriors was this franchise for me. One impossibly beautiful hero against thousands of enemies, all just begging to die by my sword. But the problem with Dynasty Warriors, other than Koei repeatedly trying to take my $60 for, essentially, the same content, was that enemies were inherently passive (that is, they kind of waited for me to come kill them), and the sword combat was almost too fluid. It lacked a certain oomph.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team packs enough oomph for it and Dynasty Warriors, and has officially dethroned DW as my new all-time favorite stress-reliever. Plus, The Husband and I can play together, which makes it all the better. Once again, THQ has proven themselves as the go-to guys for all things WH40k, and if this game is half of what Space Marine promises to be, well, my excitement level just grew exponentially.

I almost picked up the demo last night, but I hesitated because I was a little unfamiliar with the series. After this review, I think I may try the demo out after all.

@h21... I always opt to pick up trial game demos via LIVE. they are free...can't hurt and you often find gems you didn't know existed. The free demo thing on all Arcade games really is one of the underated Xbox Live perks that gets overlooked.

As for this game. This game was high on my list. I played the demo and enjoyed the play but I mostly was enjoying the play based on my thought of this will be fun co-op with my online buddies. Then I found out it has only couch co-op... such a horrible decision... anyway, that puts this game as a solid 3 for me. At 800pts I am debating...on sale for less and its a no brainer.

I agree I could pick up the demo and play for free. I just wasn't sure if it was going to be worthy of my time so I opted for another game at the time. I hope that makes sense. I guess I didn't give the whole story originally. Thanks though!

No online co-op, no buy.

Removed my report cause you fixed it. Why was it linked where it was anyway? o.O

local coop is fine with me, I suppose you need real friends for that though.

I really do want to give this a go, but the lack of online co-op is a bit discouraging.
