TVGB: "THQ has put out the first part of a gameplay demo for 4A's Metro: Last Light. This is the code that was on display at E3 last month then."
I loved the first game, so this is definitely a Day 1 purchase for me. Gameplay looks hella faster and more refined from first, and great stealth tactics and skills. I just wish I could have a replica of Artyom's watch with working LED lights and oxygen meter
Looks intense as hell. That last part where you get a turret and stand at the top of the rails and rain down metal bullets on your enemies looks so epic. Day 1 for me as well.
See it here on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watc...
ZOMG can't wait!
Hey thq well your at it bring the other metro games over to PS3 you cheap asses & also add playstation move support & 3D support to the PS3 port!
Oh cmon the Xbox has to have some exclusives :p "I know it on the PC" but it's console exclusive to 360.
Who cares what they want it's all about suply & demand not loyalty lol! Also don't give playstation 3 users inferior ports of the games would be greatly appreciated.Besides the playstation 3 hardware can handle the graphics workload on very high settings not saying ultra settings so calm down caffeinated pc spaz tards out there but the playstation 3 can handle significantly more performance then the other consoles of this generation that's for sure.
"Besides the playstation 3 hardware can handle the graphics workload on very high settings not saying ultra settings" Not for this game it can...
I strongly disagree because you gotta factor in the cell processor's real time interactive rendering capabilities, also factor in blu ray's massive uncompressed storage capacity for data, also factor in xdr dram's flexible memory architecture & factor in playstation 3's parallel processing capabilities. http://www.alphaworks.ibm.c... http://www.yostuffs.com/200... http://www.blachford.info/c... http://charbax.com/2006/05/... P.S...harnessing the power of both the Cell processor & the Reality Synthesizer for lighting technology & i serious doubt metro last light is anywhere near the graphics level of uncharted 3! Cheers!
If a Core i7(less flops but WAY more flexible and "intelligent")+a modern day GPU(faster than the cell in every way) struggle to run this game on very high settings then the PS3 can't run this game anywhere near that. You are way overestimating the cell's graphics aiding power.
The PS3 lacks DX11 or it OpenGl counter part effects. The PS3 has only 512 megs of split memory pools and is the reason all games have a mixture of low and high resolution textures. Metro 2033 uses ALL high resolution Textures like BF3 and most other PC games. Uncharted 3 and all the games you mentioned DO NOT RUN A REAL TIME DYNAMIC LIGHTING OR SOFT SHADOW GAME ENGINE. None of them. They use it at minimal or not at all. It's all PRE CACULATED and PRE BAKED. and scripted. Metro 2033 uses ALL real time lighting and shadows. Games like KZ3 do not even use HDR! It uses LDR and NOA32 a hack for HDR. The PS3'S GAMES FOR THE MOST PART LIKE XBOX360 games lack: No Real Time Dynamic Eye adaptive HDR No Tesselletion and Advanced Displacement Mapping http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... No Natural lighting and dynamic soft shadows in Real Time or very limited use of it. Not one of the games you mentioned use Real time dynamic global illumination PS3 lacks the ability to render in ANY of its games Dynamic volumetric light beams and light shaft effects in Real Time at high fidelity. Those games you mentioned do not have Dynamic Real Time Procedural Destruction. You talk about the PS3 Cell as if it is this mystical Magical beast of untapped power... Sony sold you something. If the PS3's Cell was so powerful how come NO game on the PS3 uses all those features I just mentioned in Real Time and all together? If it's so powerful how come it handles Real Anti-Aliasing poorly? The PS3's RSX which is nothing more than a 5+ year old GPU from Nvidia (7800GTX) that cannot even perform HDR+AA... This is why they use MLAA (A post production process for Anti-Aliaising like FXAA) because the PS3 has limited memeory and bandwidth. You praise the Cell and PS3 yet a last generation AMD GPU has more teraflops than the ENTIRE PS3...And I am not even including the PC's RAM and other assets. The PS3 has a total entire bandwidth of 48GB/s A 4xxx series AMD GPU has 115G/s. The 5870 a last generation GPU has 153.6GB/s... I won;t even embarrasse you with telling you how much a 5970 or 6970 or 6990 has... http://www.guru3d.com/artic... The PS3 lacks Shader Model 5.0 let alone 4.0... which gives advanced shader calculations far and above the 3.0 the PS3 has such as Advanced Dynamic Linking. http://www.tomshardware.com... The Cell LACKS all those hardware features. All those games you mention are static in background, lack real time dynamic lighting and soft shadows and interactive environment. Harnessng the POWER of the CELL and RSX won't matter because its still 5 years old hampered by 512 megs of memory and 48GB/s of bandwidth and Shader Model 3.0... And Blu-Ray is just a storage medium and has NOTHING to do with dynamic lighting/shadows/Pixel/vertex shaders and graphics as a whole. Sony sold you a bill of goods...
@Zero Last point: If a PC using an AMD 5870HD or Nvidia's 580GTX running an i7 Intel Chipset with 6 gigs of Ram almost maxes out Metro 2033 on a PC gaming rig, how the hell do you expect a 5 year old console with an aging 5 year CPU/GPU with 48GB/s of total bandwidth and its inability to run shader model 4.0 or 5.0 or tessellation or advanced pixel/vertex shader computations to run the game then???? I have yet to see ANY game look like Metro 2033 let alone Crysis 1 or the new patched Crysis 2 on the PS3... And you expect the PS3 to even come close to Metro Last Light at high settings as you claim? Please give me some of the stuff you are smoking... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://n4g.com/news/799253/... http://www.youtube.com/watc... http://www.youtube.com/watc... And all those games are running those effects in real time and not scripted or pre baked/calculated...Unlike Uncharted 3 and Gears 3 and God 3 and KZ3.
BF3, metro last light, witcher 2, etc... are just some of the few reasons to get a gaming PC.
2 minutes of gameplay from a series you've obviously never played will explain your lack of excitement.
This will Put my PC to the Test yet again, it will prob. be no problem :)
