The Dungeon Crawler, one can argue, was conceived in it’s seminal form by Blizzard Entertainment with their 1996 release of Diablo. The core gameplay mechanic is rather simple and one that has changed little in the past fifteen years. You go and kill a lot of things, and pick up better equipment for your character, and along the way, you earn experience points and can purchase skills for your character to make them even more powerful. This formula is tried and true, and the question at hand is if Dungeon Siege 3 has improved upon the formula at all or if it is just a tired old rehash. The answer is yes. And no.
