Bethesda's Matt Carafano revealed some details about the armor system in the upcoming The Elder Scrolls game.
I think its awesome that you can make your own armor and weapons.
Makes complete sense to me, update the system for a better overall experience.
This is some peoples idea of dumbing down. This is some dumb peoples idea of dumbing down. Dumbasses.
These days 'dumbing down' = making the game a better experience. For some reason 'hardcore' gamers dislike any game that moves away from unrefined, tedious, and essentially outdated gameplay mechanics. I just can't understand why people would complain so much about such little things
how giving less is better ? First i thought oh yeh they will improve armor system to be like morrowind. and there goes... It's not improvement it's dumbing down ! " 'hardcore' gamers" don't like selling them less as improvement or more.. crafting system in oblivion was nerfed already. They should bring more armours. Witcher 2 have tons of armours and those armors are very diffrent to each other. In oblivion steel armors looks every where the same.
i wish you could create custom decals for your armour, but hey, i guess that's what mods are for. November 11 here we come!
Isn't your character always facing away from you?
no, you can turn the camera
Ya custom decals would rock since they would give an unique appeal to the armor parts
Good. Tired of finding that ONE GUY with the Daedric Armor. You get so happy until you realize its just the shield or the boots. Or that it isnt Daedric at all, he just loves using Bound Armor spells
Sounds good to me, the only problem I have with it is that it's not out yet.
Just rip off 4 pages from your calender, Close your eyes & spin 3 times saying skyrim 6 times then wait till 11/11/11 & it will go faster! Trust me! I might buy cod first though... - http://www.youtube.com/watc...
this guy said "ruining a unique feel of collecting and grinding various pieces of the armor parts." after bethesda said "This helps create armor styles that have the look we needed for Skyrim. In most of the Nordic designs we created, the upper armor would completely cover the lower armor, making it unnecessary. We get much better visual results combining those pieces, and it renders a lot faster too, so we can put more people on screen, so that was an easy tradeoff for us. We can also make a lot more armors now, so the number and variation types are more than we’ve ever had." makes no sense that means there will me more unique armor and it will look a lot better as well i don't see the problem, especially if there is going to be more NPC's and with the fact were able to interact with them 20X more than oblivion will be awesome
I'll translate this to you : "This helps create armor styles that have the look we needed for Skyrim. In most of the Nordic designs we created, we used upper armor to cover the lower armor, to make it unnesesery. We get much better framerate, and give us more FPS, so we can get stable FPS, we had to do this for console optimaalization. We can also make a lot more armors now, so the number and variation types are more than 8 or 10. " They could do easly graves and gualnets if they want.
At least you read the interview.
as long as they added to the number of collectible armors. If they combined AND reduced the numbers, this could be bad...
Skyrim is sounding more and more awesome! I think the tradeoff is fine. We got more out of it, than we lost. and We'll be wearing matching outfits, rather than mixing what ever gear has the most armor on it. Generating the Green item wow effect. If you havent played wow, you have no idea how ugly mixing and matching gear can get. People look like utter clowns, but have to because the items simply have better stats.
As long as there is no day one patches I don't care. I loved the customisation of Morrowind and Oblivion but if it means we get to have both a visually appealing and intelligent playing game, then I'm happy.
I'll take skyrim as it is, That oblivion mod coming though... wow
This is how it is in Fallout 3 and Vegas. I don't see them performing any better or sport superior armor variation.
