EA’s Riccitiello: Wii U “transcends anything I’ve ever done before”

In case you haven’t already heard, EA is a big supporter of the Wii U. So much so that EA CEO John Riccitiello took the stage at Nintendo’s E3 2011 media briefing to talk about the potential of the console. Riccitiello once again demonstrated how excited he is about the Big N’s new system in an interview with IndustryGamers, even say that it “transcends anything I’ve ever done before.”

i like his enthusiasm i hope this inspires devs to come out with even better products and i hope this inspires sony/microsoft to be creative with there new systems as well

yay for innovation

I hope so too, but I'm a little skeptical of adding a touch screen, but will try to remain open minded. Maybe somebody sees something amazing, I have never thought of.

Back in the day when the rumble was introduced, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever, but when the PS3 lacked it, I was surprised at how much feedback it provided after playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma and how much I missed it from playing Ninja Gaiden Black on the original Xbox.

So I have been wrong and will give it an open mind.

What I'm hoping for is that the Wii U will be significantly more powerful than the current consoles (and I fully expect it), but frankly the message so far has been disappointing.

I really dont see why you would wanna be skeptical about it.
Even if its just for inventory and whatever, its easier to controler certain data with it ( DS showed that it worked brilliantly ).

And I hope Somethinge like C&C comes to the WiiU

I agree, I'm skeptical of a LOT of things about the new system, but the benefits can outweigh it all. If they have a seriously powerful system, then developers have new hardware to play with. This means that Sony and MS can't just back their way into the next gen (not that I expect them to, but now they might have serious competition).

Hopefully we see a serious Nintendo system that is fun for ALL ages, especially 20+.

It seems like EA and Ubisoft are always the first to take chances on any new hardware that comes out. They seem like they actually get excited to have something new to play around with. At the Wii U's launch, I expect EA and Ubisoft to have to biggest presence on the Wii U.

wait for him to finish.....until the PS4 and next XBOX come out....

See, makes more sense

charmer2266d ago

nintendo gamecube can do the same thing...how silly do you sound.....we dont even have the full details on the wiiu just yet and from just the demos alone gamecube /gameboy is nowhere near in sight to whats being done...not even ps3/vita compares......keep in mind the wiiu is design from the ground up to do those things.....you dont have to buy two different systems......if nintendo just play its card right...

maniacmayhem2266d ago

You dont have the full details but a company like EA or Activions does. You dont think these huge 3rd party devs dont speak directly with nintendo or they dont already have a dev kit in their possession?
