Xbox World Australia writes: Double Fine's decision to focus on releasing four new titles in the downloadable realm after the critical and commercial failure of Brutal Legend was seen at the time by some in the industry as an admittance of defeat. But after the quality and success of Costume Quest, Stacking and now Trenched – all of which are some of the finest XBLA experiences in the last 12 months – it's proving to have been a fortuitous decision that will only make Tim Schafer and company stronger. Each title has been experimental, quirky and, most importantly, incredibly polished and addictive. Trenched is, at the most basic of explanations, a tower-defense game crossed with a third-person mech shooter. But that's a pigeonholed description that doesn't do it justice because it's so much more.
