Bethesda: We don't "carve out" DLC content from games before release

OXM UK: "Bethesda may have a rough idea of what it wants for Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim DLC, but marketing and PR boss Pete Hines is adamant that any "good content" dreamed up before development ends will make it into the retail release."

I hate day one DLC. KZ3 etc should just delay the game to add the DLC in as maps. It was free anyway to those that preordered, just put it into the full damn game.

“We wanted to take it and make it really accessible,” the producer said.“… We still have the complexity behind the scenes, but we wanted to make it so that you could pick up the controller and play and it was easy; the average person could get into it…We knew we wanted to make the user interface a little bit more open and available … get away from the stats and things like that.”

This game used to be hardcore! What happened? Oh I know..

Same is happening with hitman..

mainstream ftw!

... that I won't be buying that game on day 1. Or day 2. Or week 4.

I'll just wait 6 months or a year or however long it takes (if I'm still interested in the game by then), until there's a complete/ultimate/GOTY release coming out, that will ahve ALL the DLC on the disk.

Otherwise, no buy.

Thank the heavens for used games. If they're going to do me dirty by having a Day 1 DLC, content that should have been in the game, then I'll do them dirty back. I'll just buy their game used.

Seems most game companies are jumping on the dlc bandwagon as it is generating a lot of money after the games release. I think developers need to take a look at TF2 and try and do something similar to what they have done. I don't like the idea of having a game that only really lasts a year and then gets dropped, I would love if a game would keep getting support for many years.

Bioware is infamous for their preorder codes and day 1 DLCs. Gated content for the lose. Just put it in the damn game ya bastards.

Cool Bethesda must have special DVD discs that are about 14gbs then. Lucky for us then. The game won't be compromised because of the 360 then.

down troll, down.

There should be a law which states all game content which is created before release should be included on the disc, or given as FREE dlc
