In an OXM exclusive, Gearbox's outspoken frontman reveals what he expects from next generation hardware... and why he's not desperate to get his hands on it.
This guys opinion has become irrelevant. Duke Nukem Forever was a technical mess. Not saying it would have been much better on newer hardware but for him to say this below makes me laugh: "We don't have to worry - we've all learned how to use these machines, and we're not wrestling with how to get things to work anymore, now we're focusing our attention on the entertainment and the content and the kind of challenges that we offer and the rewards for those challenges. And it's really getting into the craft of game making as opposed to the technical challenges of software development, and that's really exciting." Doesn't he also work for the company who drove Guitar Hero to the ground and has a new Call of Duty game every year that is often hard to decipher from one to the other?
"Doesn't he also work for the company who drove Guitar Hero to the ground and has a new Call of Duty game every year that is often hard to decipher from one to the other?" No.
LevelHead, he may have made one mess of a game but have you ever heard of ad hominem? http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...
It can probably wait because it seems that OXM hasn't even reached Current Gen yet. When is that site going to get an overhaul?
Given Gearbox's long past performance developing mediocre games its pretty clear they have a long long way to understanding even the current gen of hardware. Sub-par crap from this company over and over again. What crap are they going to grace us with next? Oh boy, can't wait. Gearbox's games aren't even worth the price of a disc for pirating. This guy is a hack who needs to go back to techie school and overhaul his incompetent shitty staff.
Mr. Pitchford, please do not sound so confident in Gearbox's talent...my xbox version of Duke says a resounding Hallo! Gearbox still has a long way to go in understanding this gens hardware...
I want new consoles fall 2012. So I can buy in 2013. Im not buying a launch console ever again after all the hassle with my 360.
