By the time the Chip gets released, newer consoles will enter the scene. Still, PS3 and Xbox 360 level graphics on my mobile phone sounds fun =P

deadpoole2603d ago

The hell it will ... :p

Two words, Infinity Blade

And there are processors out already that put the Iphone 4's to shame.

That game was all show and no substance

There talking about graphics not gameplay twit, learn to read.

All show is exactly what this article is about.

The PS4 and Xbox 720 will leave this chip in the dust.

By then it would have been almost a decade the Xbox 360 and PS3 have been on the market so it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

It speaks volume of how far behind we are being held back because console manufacturers aren't introducing a new cycle. We need a 4th competitor that is really going to push technology forward (and no, Nintendo doesn't count).

I might go back to PC, with a Xbox controller....

Power is great and all, but one thing they are not considering is room.

Yeah PS3 / 360 graphics sound nice on a phone, but when the textures are running the size of the file up to 4gigs, it is no longer 'pick up and play' because you have longer download time, load times and increased battery consumption, on top of the normal phone functions and OS

Madusha2603d ago

I'm worried about battery consumption, such graphics will take a hell of a lot of juice. Phones with these chips will have to be a bit bigger than the usual.

TheIneffableBob2602d ago

Procedurally generated graphics. You can still create graphically demanding games and detailed worlds without resorting to raster images. Potentially less flexible for the artist and more difficult, but this process dramatically reduces file sizes.

Quite amazing if you ask me. I never thought mobile devices will be capable of such power for a very very long time. 2013 sounds very early for the mobile industry.

The PSP vita is coming out this year, get with it.

Also, don't get me wrong its not 100% ps3 level, but have you seen Golden Abyss?

Ult iMate2603d ago

Also Vita is coming with games and not just graphics. ))) .

Neko_Mega2603d ago

Yet it won't really matter if the screen is 5inchs or less, I mean how many people can put up at looking at that small of a screen?

I got a Droid X for now and the screen is a good size but I can't stand playing something big like that on it (Not even watching 720p movies).

zinkabass2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

It is not the screen size that is the problem,,..

It is the lack of tactile buttons,..

Neko_Mega2603d ago

Sony Xperia Play, so buttons wouldn't be a problem at all.

The only problem is a screen, which this could be in tablets.

DJMarty2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

@Neko_Mega - When the screens OLED, I'd say alot would put up with it. It's simply gorgeous.
