Epic and Microsoft's official statement on the leaked Gears of War 3.
poor epic :( im sure it will not effect this game much, ive been waiting for a 360 exclusive to play on my dusty 360 and im not letting this get me down.
the game will sell millions regardless of the leak anyway
"not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches worldwide"... then what the hell is it. It may not be the final build, but I'm sure it's pretty similar. PR people are so full of it.
Here is comparison between leaked build and trailer build(sp trailer few days before E3). leaked build http://i54.tinypic.com/112b... trailer build http://i54.tinypic.com/15ck... So...for final build we can definitely expect more polished and non buggy experience.
I wasn't talking about visuals... I'm talking about story and gameplay. The core of the game! I see the disagree clan is out in full force... free of independent thought they carry on.
I'm sure the gameplay still has tons of glitches, still, as well.. As for the story, I heard that the last few chapters are missing. Therefor, yes.. you will be missing out and it's not the final product.
Oh Jesus Jumping Christ... I am well aware that it is NOT the final build, but to say it is not a representation of the game that we'll be playing is September is stupid. How you gonna walk into court and say, "We have a lawsuit of IP theft, but it doesn't represent the actual IP that we are working on". Case dismissed. This is just some BS PR statement to play down the fact that some a-hole leaked something very significant to MS's biggest holiday exclusive. I know many on n4g take everything literally and don't understand things like legal definitions, and/or take everything ANY major publisher says as the truth.
lol, it's not really a representation when their are still things missing. Now, if this statement was made having the game gone gold, that's different. Just like demos, they say the same thing (or similar) most of the time. That it's not a true representation of the game that you will be buying ..
Epic ... Take my money god dammit and gimme this game like RIGHT NOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!. Why the fuck would u delay release of this game.:(((
Hacked or an inside job, either way someone has to pay.
I believe what MS are referring to is the unfinished and buggy game. Some people will think this is the final game. When Gears 2 came out, people gave it a lot of flack even until today, despite the fact that they fixed a lot of what was wrong with the game. It is a much better game... so yes, a buggy unfinished game IS NOT necessarily representative of the final game. Now was that really that hard to comprehend?
It was leaked and i downloaded it and ive finished the leaked version..But i will still bye the full version when it comes out. @LocO_o(Above)..The ban and bubble system on N4G is very flawed...U get bubbled down for saying ur opinion..If u say u hate a game thats a exclusive people call u a fan boy even when ur not a fan boy and take ur bubbles....I got bubbled down for saying i like COD. Any way people who take bubbles and ban serious are only internet geeks.
No worries, I think every 360 game is leaked, still Gears has a huge following of dedicated fans, its almost like Halo. No big deal really because sort of folks who'd settle for a buggy unfinished game rather than wait for the real deal are an insignificant minority of gamers who don't *pay for most of their games anyway. The beta was awesom and really showed the world that Epic will once again continue to outdo themselves with Gears3= Confirmed the game will sell millions, as you can tell even Epic's PR doesn't sound too worried, lol I'm still not sure they didn't leak it on purpose.
Based on your rabid trolling you're no more going to play your "dusty" 360 you supposedly own than I'm going on my vacation to my summer ranch on the planet Mars.
try harder bitch
I have played the leaked copy, it doesn't even have all the missions..
I find it stupid that the pirates that have done this are posting their videos on youtube and using fair use as an excuse. It is stolen, So it isnt their property to use.
Maybe they will say the hackers did it. They've been an attention whore lately.
I hate the hackers they ruining everything
I dont think this has any thing to do with hackers but more of an internal leak. I hope theY find the guy who released it and fire his a$$. Edit: Then again EPIC was hacked a few weeks ago and maybe the hackers got something out of it - dont think EPIC or MS will admit that hackers got a game build of GOW3.
This wasn't the same event. The only thing hacked before was their forums. This is a case of someone getting a hold of one of their old builds and putting it online for people. It is a pretty old build. We can tell by the bugs we see in it that were resolved a while ago.
I don't think this has anything to do with hackers.
It looks like it's the same build that was used at E3. Maybe someone snagged it off one of the computers during the expo? Not sure if it's hackers or not.
Should have leaked a lot later, all games leak eventually, but the later the better. However, this game will still get amazing sales, this might be the first gears to get near halo 3 its sales.
Hopefully this will make EPIC and MS release the game earlier. I was ok with waiting till Sept but now that I know other people are playing it I can help to think how unfair that is.
Who the hell disagrees with you, hoping for something. I hope this site is not representative for the average IQ of humans.
There's been a few REAL idiots disagreeing in an almost offensive manner here today and, unlike the normal disagree fairy it seems this one JUST enjoys disagreeing and not along normal fanboy designated lines.
this is sad man, i mean what is the point.. i am not a big gears of war fan, i just think it harsh. I will play the game when it comes out, as i have finished the first 2, may as well see how the story turns out.
I really really want this game
Hey Cliffy B still want to us to embrace hackers or has this little situation changed your mind. This is why we should let them know they can't go around doing whatever the hell they like
The hackers sure did embrace their game.
im sure hackers weren't involved, most likely an internal worker leaked it to the net
Hackers didn't get the game. Someone with access to a build of the game (more than likely a contract developer/tester) and leaked it.
I guess you should've released the game five months ago like you planned before you're slavemaster Microsoft forced a September release to avoid overshadowing that heap of horseshit halo reach. "we have a great relationship with Microsoft, so gears ain't coming to any other platform". Thank you hackers you saved me $60.
Well, you're a simple cretin anyways. Wouldn't have put you above flat out stealing a game from Gamestop.
Rule 14: Do not argue with trolls - It means that they win.
The game wasn't half of what it is now when it was originally supposed to be released. It's a good thing it was delayed. You really don't know how much it has changed and how many extras have been added.
The irony is that they abandoned PC because of piracy and leaks.
No, they ,might SAYT that just like they SAID Alan Wake wasn't being released on PC because "it's not best kind of game played on PC" FFS! Truth is they just wanted more true exclusive reasons for people to own a 3600but don't want to say that so blamed gamers piracy for Gears(after getting PC gamers into the series with the first game-totally out of order to my mind) and after PC gamers waited five years plus for Alan Wake neither Remedy nor MS had the gall to say the real reason and pretended that playing a survival horror alone at you PC, lights off, sound up and in the middle of the night just wasn't as good as playing one with the rest of the family on the couch with all the associated distractions!! I never heard a bigger insult to our intelligence and the worst thing? they then didn't even push the 360 version like they would a normal exclusive. They wanted ore 360 exclusive AAA titles but lacked the bollox to say so and blamed other, spurious reasons like these and it stinks.
I refuse to watch any campaign footage because of spoilers, but I did watch videos of the multiplayer maps and they look awesome!
Well, unless you didn't play the beta that's the most legit way to go-and cos of the beta there were plenty of clips to begin with fella.
hm now people can compare it to uncharted 3 and say how buggy and unpolished gears of war 3 is and they wont be lying since they played the game XD. im kidding 360 fanboys keep ya panties up
Not sure why they make such a big deal about this. Piracy is a lot less of a problem than they make it out to be. If the title is good it will sell a lot of copies..and if not, it doesn't. If these companies want to blame anyone it should be the reviewers...seems they have the most power over game sales these days. Don't believe me? Read the comments on plenty of gaming sites. You'll always see "X review site said game sucks, so don't buy it!" or "X review site said the game wont have this even though they said it would, so lets boycott it!"
Whats that cliffy? Piracy on the 360? IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!
The Xbox is staying alive barley on the backs of Gears and Halo and now with this leak it's barley got it's head above the water. Cliff, you got what you deserve bro.
Actually no, the 360 is still alive due to MS deep pockets.
Barley, it'll keep you alive. But seriously, it's a leak of a incomplete build missing assets. It's also something the average gears player isn't going to even know happened.
Lets see... games ships in September, so it needs about 2 months to get the initial shipment of ~3M copies printed and shipped... that's the end of this month, it has to be done, folks. Any recent build leak is *damn near* the final version.
I read somewhere that this build is missing textures and animations. I don't have a 360, but friends of mine who also pirate 360 games says it's not even worth the time, let alone downloading. Might as well wait in september to buy it and play it online.
I am 100% that it was BAIRD!!!
