Britxbox: Dirt 3 Review

Dave Long writes: "It would appear that Codemasters' abandonment of rally simulation is here to stay as Dirt 3 follows suit of its predecessor in focussing on arcade entertainment for the masses, as opposed to authenticity for the faithful.

When I reviewed Dirt 2 I awarded it with a solid 8 out of 10. My overall feeling is that, while its presentation has been improved and the number of pure rally events has increased, there is little for me to say Dirt 3’s taken a great leap forwards. If anything it’s simply sharpened its presence in the marketplace. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun little title with plenty to keep the player entertained. It simply doesn’t feel as fresh or exciting as its predecessor."

Try turning off all the steering aids and go for a spin on the Finland tracks. It doesn't come closer to rally than that. Imo Dirt 3 is a fullfledged rally simulator which above that deliveres a wide range of other disciplines, which are all great as well. And it feels a whole lot more rally centered and less 'dudey' than Dirt 2.

You didn't even mention the excellent online modes which makes me question your review even more.
