Dave Long writes: "It would appear that Codemasters' abandonment of rally simulation is here to stay as Dirt 3 follows suit of its predecessor in focussing on arcade entertainment for the masses, as opposed to authenticity for the faithful.
When I reviewed Dirt 2 I awarded it with a solid 8 out of 10. My overall feeling is that, while its presentation has been improved and the number of pure rally events has increased, there is little for me to say Dirt 3’s taken a great leap forwards. If anything it’s simply sharpened its presence in the marketplace. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fun little title with plenty to keep the player entertained. It simply doesn’t feel as fresh or exciting as its predecessor."
