Gaming Irresponsibly's Frank Moricz reviews the PC version for Magic: The Gathering - Duels of the Planeswalkers. Gameplay video included in post.
The first one was great! Glad the sequel looks great too!
Yeah, that it does. It got a little backlash from hardcore fans, but I think it was just that they expected a different game.
MONO BLACK CONTROL IS VIABLE. GIVE ME MY PHYREXIAN OBLITERATOR
I actually enjoy the fact that you can't build your own deck. Keeps it fair, almost in all situations.
Agreed. As long as people know that going in, they shouldn't be disappointed.
Even if you could build your own deck then it would still be fair as other people would also be able to build the same deck if they wanted to. Being able to build your own deck would at least keep people interested in the game longer than a few weeks or so. Not being able to build a deck is the main reason I am avoiding this game. If it becomes free through PS+ like the original then I will have no problem playing it but I'm not going to buy the game.
Any Magic player that knows the game knows that there are certain decks in Standard that are just not viable to play right now. Using pre-made decks eliminates that problem. That aside, the other online options for playing Magic are pretty terrible. Duels of the Planeswalkers does its job and does it well.
