Meet the People Who Call Home...Home

GiantBomb - In case you'd forgotten, PlayStation Home still exists, and, yes, it's still in Beta.

Sony's ambitious virtual world may not have become the all-inclusive revelation proposed by Phil Harrison back in 2007, but it's still kicking. The service recently received its biggest back end update yet (version 1.5), and it's making money for Sony.

You might not love Home, but plenty of others do, and they truly do care.

I liked Home, especially back in closed beta, it did what it was supposed to do, provide a virtual community for ps3 users. Only thing I don't like about Home are the casuals that turn it into their own barbie playhouse and start drama.

Wait, haven't they been doing the whole "guy w/girl avatar to mess with other guys" thing since the beta?

Granted, I wasn't too happy seeing furries when they started popping up. What with Sony kind of promising that Home wouldn't turn into a second 2nd life.

And then my male avatar was raped by a UFO. Literally.

Yup, it's quite funny to be honest, then it gets sad...
@secondlife, That is precisely why I don't like the casuals in Home, they've made home what it is today. Have you seen the PS Home forums on ps.com? There's a damn fashion thread! LOL. But at the end of the day, you can still have a great experience in Home. I think I would blame Jack Buser as well for Home going the way it has been.

i reckon there should also be "village" or "street" spaces, in whic it would be little towns with many houses or flats in one area so people could walk around the street entering and or leaving houses obviously you would need permission to enter somebody else but yeah it would be cool like that..

hell they could even charge people for a house on a particular street so they'd always be around their friends houses etc.

Im glad people still enjoy it, i played it the most during the whole "Xi" thing been on now & then since checking out the new stuff

"The true strength of Home, and where its long-term revenue generation opportunities are, lie in its ability to provide a social environment for people to interact and express themselves. The core community is quite resilient, and took to various fan websites to maintain those connections.""

So true

All I ever wanted from Home was a place for virtual models - as in spaceships, mechs and weapons - an arcade space like Namco was doing before whatever happened between them and Sony happened, and museum/amusement areas say like the Gold Saucer from FFVII with Chocobo racing. Was that really too much to ask for?

Damn you Square Enix and your narrow lack of vision...

Mind you, I'd also like a two story loft space in the Citadel from Mass Effect, but I doubt that's happening either...

well if bioware/ea isn't intrested , well that's not really sony's fault..

We have several cult space from good games like ( the assassin creed space ( complete with 2(??) multiplayers games ).

the problem is that there is no unified content , otherwise we could have some very cool stuff from square ( they are active in japan home )
