Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta Impressions - Gamerlive.tv

Uncharted 2’s multiplayer mode didn’t blow anyone away with superbly tight controls or incredible depth. However, it was still a lot of fun and had some of the best looking environments and smoothest animations among multiplayer games. Uncharted 3’s multiplayer offering adds a lot of the depth that is now commonplace in addition to making some interesting and original changes.

Is it a trend with all these impressions to shit on U2, and then say U3 has vastly improved on it? I thought U2 was perfect and things that didn't need fixing were fixed. The gameplay was fast, fun and RESPONSIVE. Now it kinda reminds me of Socom 4 movement-wise.

I know right? How is Uncharted 2 multiplayer not mindblowing. Until patch 1.05 it was legendary after that it was still mindblowing, but before that patch it was better. Uncharted 2 was incredible.

Honestly guys, come on....how was Uncharted 2's multiplayer mindblowing? I honestly don't get it.

I think UC3 is brilliant but I get annoyed at the cod route its taken. Nonetheless, it feels a lot more polished, fluid and fun and that's only two maps we have played.

I think its a pretty good beta and it should improve a great deal once we all give our feedback.

Quick question: Some guy was running towards me and I did a slide and punched him in the nuts. How do you do that? All I remember was pressing square (unless he was sprinting).

@Septic Boosters didn't play a big enough role. There weren't many maps and barely any guns. THe control, pace, and traversal aspects were MINDBLOWING which is why tons of people still play as we speak.

I haven't noticed any changes in the actual gameplay. The controls and movement all felt basically identical, which is what I meant by "a solid foundation." I don't think I shit on U2 at all. In fact, I really enjoyed it. More than most. But it wasn't particularly deep, and it wasn't really what got people talking about U2.

I think there is quite a bit of difference and I felt it from the moment I first used my character. Everyone keeps saying 3 is better, but I don't see it. I'm talking about the core gameplay mechanics. I love the customization and boosters, but I DO NOT see an improvement in the already fluid character control in U2. I see a step back.

Lots of people already have the Uncharted 3 beta but I have a extra code if anyone wants it... ask

All this multiplayer-beta stuff is not very considerate of those who like to try out single player modes. Can't they just release the friggin' E3 demo for us non-multiplayer players? This beta trend is really beginning to get on my nerves.

The purpose of a beta isn't to be a demo. It's to test it out. Naughty Dog uses data from the beta to essentially fix the game for when it releases. There isn't nearly as much balancing or tweaking that needs to be taken care of in a single player level. But there will be a single player demo closer to the launch of the game. There was for UC1 and UC2.
