ParaNerds.com: Top Ten Modern 2D Games

The thing about 2D styled games is that you either love it, or you hate it. When games starting becoming more powerful developers starting losing their minds by making games more realistic and more 3D, adding textures and details that will make a 2 year old cry. 3D was a huge step in gaming and most developers decided to take this route. Some games however pushed against the grain and instead decide to make a 2D game instead.

This is the Top Ten Modern 2D Games (Casual games, Culture, iPhone, Kirbys Epic Yarn, Limbo, Mega Man 9, Mobile, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Nintendo DS, PS3, Retro, Super Meat Boy, The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, Wii, Xbox 360)

No mention of Outland? Or even LBP?

OutLand was good but not great in compare to these other games, close call though. LBP however is 2.5D along with Shadow Complex, don't worry you'll see those on "another" list.
