Kazunori Yamauchi Aiming for Class Victory in the Nurburgring 24h

It’s finally morning on the legendary Nurburgring track, and Kazunori Yamauchi (creator of the Gran Turismo series) is currently racing as part of Team Schulze Motorsport on the #71 Nissan GTR.

Yamauchi and the team are currently leading the SP 8T class, with solid chances to win. DualShockers will cover the race live until the end of the race.

Yamauchi's #71 has just been overtaken by #235, falling back into second position in class SP 8T. It seems that they had mechanical problems. But now they're back running fast.

Second update: #235 had mechanical problems again, and Yamauchi's #71 is back in the lead for SP 8T class!

and just one more question: what do you mean by SPT8 class, and how is he "leading" when he is 26th

The cars running the nurburgring 24h belong to many different classes. They go from Ferrari to Mini :D
Cars in the same class have similar power and compete officially against each other.

That's why the overall standing is more of a "prestige" thing, while what teams normally aim to is to win in their own class.
