Mielke: 'We're working full-steam on the PS3 version' of Child of Eden

Last week Q Entertainment released the long-awaited spiritual successor to the musical shooter Rez, Child of Eden. It was released on the Xbox 360 with Kinect support built-in, but with only a promise of a PS3 version.

Producer and former games writer James Mielke recently spoke about the current state of Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s creation for the PS3 on the 8-4 Play podcast.

I'm glad they are planning on releasing this one on PS3. The 360 got the Rez: HD release via XBLA, but the PS3 still doesn't have anything comparable. This "sequel" will fit in nicely with the PS3's unique software libarary, IMO.

This game really should've had both versions released at the same time. No excuse.

Totally agree. I think something is fishy here, it does not seem to be such a complex game to develope.

I don' t believe it' s just happened that was so difficult to develope PS3 version, and if even so the delay in the release date is HUGE.

Bad move Q Entertainment.

From my understanding this game is supposed to get "MOVE" support as well as 3D. If you pay attention to the interview, he states as much in a vague way, with all kinds of control schemes and nice TV's. Like I said earlier Move and 3D has been rumored for a while, when it was announced that it will be out several months after the XBOX version.

I'm well aware that 3d and move are being added to CoE but that warrants a 3-4 month delay? I'm not buying that excuse. There's also the possibility that they could've patched 3D and move support in later and release the game for both consoles at the same time.

$50.00 for a game like this? With no extra modes or replay value or long campaign ? Don't bother. At least Flower, Pixel Junk Eden and Flow were beautiful but cheap. Not going to buy this for that much for so little amount of gameplay.

It's only gained so much attention because it was originally the exclusive killer app for Kinect. To be honest it screams $9.95. A tech demo for motion control.

Are video games art? Looking back at... Child of Eden

Jack writes: "“Are video games art?” This is a perennial argument, one with staunch advocates on both sides who are hard to sway. Naysayers, though, can be shown examples of art in video games that are hard to deny – such as the visuals of the sadly overlooked Child of Eden, released for Kinect in 2011."

Are the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for December 2017 any good?

Neil writes: "It seems rather strange to be saying this but 2017 is fast coming to a close. Before we start to party the night away and usher in 2018 though, the Xbox Games With Gold scheme has got one last surprise up its sleeve - four free games being gifted to all Xbox One and Xbox 360 players.

But hot on the heels of November’s offerings that delivered so much (or at least three of the four did), can the free titles being given away during the month of December match up to the quality, or are we being sent a few duds that refuse to let us go out with a bang? We take a look at the good, the tempters and the, well, ugly."

I purchased BTTF on PS3 at the tail end of the system's life. I enjoyed Episode 1 but life went on and I never finished. I'm actually pretty psyched about getting that one.

Prince_TFK2335d ago

You should definitely play Back to The Future. No matter what reviewers say, I really enjoyed this game. The story is awesome and the twist is just heartbreaking.
