Nintendo: “Wii U Has Something For Everyone, Not Just Hardcore, Not Just Casuals”

Joel Taveras writes, "During our time at the Nintendo booth at this year’s E3, we had the chance to catch up with Gil Ruta, who’s a product evaluator for the company. We had Gil jump on camera to talk about all of the show’s announcements and discuss in further detail what the Wii U plans on bringing to the market. We also discuss some Zelda, 3DS, and hardcore 3rd party stuff. Make sure to check out the clip below!"

Microsoft could learn something from Sony and Ninty in that respect.

"Not Just Hardcore, Not Just Casuals”

FB and Angry bird people

Well Nintendo sure is missing the part where people gather in a group to play some split screen or multiplayer sports games because why? Only one Wii U controller per console.

Chadness2365d ago (Edited 2365d ago )

Frankly, I'll believe it when I see it. Although, I do think the console will do fairly well just because it still carries the "Wii" name. And it'll have Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart and SSB. ;)

I think they made a very big statement with their 3rd party montage.

NukaCola2365d ago

I'll get Wii U exclusives but I'm a trophy hunter. I do hope Wii U has awards like trophies/achievements

booni32365d ago

This simply isn't something I can believe just by being told. Nintendo has more than earned my doubt.

super smash, and mario cart are fun games, ill give nintendo kudos for that, but im not going to spend 200$ to buy those two games again. their first party studios are going to have to stop relying on mario type games if they want me to care. nintendo isnt known for proving mature content so im gonna be pretty weary of buying another of their platforms

theyre going to need lots of exclusive, mature content. why would i buy your platform for my multiplatform games when i already have platforms that can play them?

mike1up2365d ago

No offense but unless they have the right 3rd party support, then this doesn't sound like the right console for "U" (lol, im sorry i couldnt resist)

But yea, i know what you mean.

JoelT2365d ago (Edited 2365d ago )

I think you hit it right on the head dude. ANd this isn't to sound like some Xbot or PS fanboy but it's very true. If both Sony and Nintendo are holding things down in terms of multiplat stuff (main reason being is their online communities) why would people make the jump to this and make it their "go-to" console for online or multiplatform stuff?

EDIT:

Developers would need to really go out of their way to make the experience unique and viable for the system to sustain a healthy 3rd party environment. In other words take advantage of the new controller and introduce ways of playing games that we've never seen before. If not it's just another gamecube/wii.

mike1up2365d ago (Edited 2365d ago )

Ill believe it when i see it... lol is there an echo in here? But yea, Im hoping that "something for everyone" also includes 3rd party developers.

I am definitely rooting for Nintendo on this one. With the right 3rd party support this console will go far. Worse case scenario is we only get HD Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Smash Bros. etc.. Personally, this is simply a cant lose for me.
