Classic video games get remastered

Movie studios and music labels do it routinely: get consumers to buy a movie or album a second and third time with remastered editions and extras.

Video games are getting more into the act, too. Just released: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, a new edition of the 1998 Nintendo 64 classic, remastered in 3-D for the 3DS handheld system. This new version ($40) has built-in hints and a mode that lets players repeat their battles with the game's major enemies.

I'm all for remastering as long as the graphics and story aren't messed with. I'm really excited to play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and can't wait for Star Fox. Now Halo HD on the other hand. Not so much....

I don't have a problem with remakes, but it seems like gamers are looking for more remakes lately than new stuff!

I think it's because people want that nostalgic feel that reminds them of the good ol' days of gaming.

I don't understand people who DO have a problem with remakes.

If you don't like it, don't play it. Why bitch about it and treat people who are interested in it, like they are killing the industry? Doesn't make any sense.

I just got my sons to play some n64 games and was shocked by their reaction!

They liked them a lot, especially Ocarina of Time! But complained about how they don't make good games like this today! They said games today are too easy.

It made me smile, because it's the same reason I went back and got an N64!

The bad thing is, they will never know the amount of fun I had when this console was out!

Waking up in the morning when my brother and friends would show up. Playing some goldeneye or competing in 1080 or Mario Kart. Going to get lunch and make it back in time to watch Jerry Springer. Going to play ball to burn off the food. Random activities in between. Having 15-20 people hangin out in my room playin games talkin sh*t.

Dam, I forgot to mention a lot of stuff in there!

The strange thing is, all this stuff that is suppose to connect us with friends seems to do the opposite to a certain extent! It seems like we were closer with friends before we became so technological.

Kids don't have the urge to get out of the house like I used to! Playing games used to be something I would do until I figured out what to do next! Now, it seems like people play games to avoid doing anything else!

i think theyre ok as long as they are lower priced than new games.
