Fable Creators Moving On To New Opportunities

In what has to be a major blow to the team behind the Fable series, original creators Simon Carter and his brother Dene (you know, the Normanomicon pair) have left Lionhead Studios to pursue "new opportunities". (Fable, Fable 2, Fable 3, PC, Xbox 360)

Damn everybody is leaving m$ is it really that hard to pitch your new ideas with then

I'm not surprised they left now that Lionhead seem to be focusing on the casual and Fable 3 was sub-par.

They are not the creators...Peter Molyneux is the Creator.

besides this will be good for fable as old talent leaves new talents come in.

Good for them. They're probably sick of being made to work with Kinect and compromise their vision.

Good for them...
This is something that is going on everywhere around the gaming world. Bungie and Insomniac are a couple examples. Ubi-softy is losing so many people they have threaten to sue. Lucas arts has had big people move on. The app phenomena has put dollar signs in a lot of peoples eyes. Add to that the motion controller craze going on with games that are not much more then one trick ponies and the chance to make it big has never been better.

Sadly, it's a casual gaming craze that is fueling all this. These guys are pros's and can have a game up an running in no time and make a small fortune doing nothing. Look at Wii sports and silly junk like that. You could potentially sell millions and millions with next to nothing game play. The Wii and Sony move always have the same " waggle " for everything and every game...o_O

I predict they will make an RPG in a fantasy world with Wii U and Sony move compatibility. Of course they have seen all of what Lionhead has done with Kinect and could put out something tomorrow with no R&d costs...hmmmmm.

Fable 3 was the worst game Ive played in 2010, such a big letdown, horrible story, horrible linearity, horrible gameplay, horrible loadingtimes, beautiful scenery but you CANNOT EXPLORE!!

I am nof disagreeing but the previous fable games had those problems too

The problem lies that sequels are suppose to improve on the originals. I only played Fable 1 but I've heard people say it's the best Fable out there so it's kinda disturbing to hear that the sequels were inferior.

I bet they are all Fabled out...Fable Kinect is going to fail and they don't want to be apart of it...good decision guys.

Those guys were probably sick of making Fable games. It's like the people who do Madden, most of the team have moved on.

It's time for Peter and his team to sit down and re-evaluate the Fable franchise. Put it in a new setting add some real co-op mode, offer something new that no other rpg has done yet.

Either that or let the Fable series rest for a while and work on a new IP.
