So...They're definitely kids that think they're being SO COOL AND EDGY then.

Ducky2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

... The dude is 19 years old.
That's an adult in most places.

That, and he's mainly just an IRC admin and was responsible for ATTACKING anonymous.
If anything, it's a bad thing he got caught as he was trying to hinder Anonymous.

TheDeadMetalhead2584d ago

The second part of my statement still stands.

Ducky2584d ago

^ Fine then, a bunch of kids who think they're cool are somehow taking down Government sites, attacking the CIA and FBI, stealing databases sporadically from major corporations, and have still yet to be caught.

Deadman_Senji2584d ago

He only tried to hinder anonymous because they actually have begun to fight for "causes." I say that with quotes because...their causes are laughable at best.

People like this guy and the rest of lulzsec do what they do for entertainment, they came out and said it numerous times. There is no greater good, even in their minds. They just want to grief people.

Let him rot in jail.

FACTUAL evidence2584d ago

Member of lulzsec huh? Looks like he's going to be an official member of buttsecs in prison.

dcbronco2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

I would bet this person has nothing or little to do with the main attacks. I would think the people involved are smart enough not to get caught. One thing that I have heard over the last few months from listening to Julian Assange interviews is about the laws of certain countries when it comes to the internet. It seems that the servers of certain countries strip packets of their identification info as they pass them along in accordance with their Constitution. I would think an experienced hacker would know which ones and would always send attacks through those countries.

NarooN2584d ago

Hopefully he leaks the location of the other guys to lessen his punishment or something. A bas lulzsec.

Pintheshadows2584d ago

Anonymous member? But if he was Anonymous how do they know he was a member? No one in Anonymous is going to say yeah I remember him, Anonymous. He was a bit of a knob.

Also, Wickford, ha!

tigertron2584d ago

Good to see Anonymous getting pwned.

tigertron2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

Judging by the stealth disagrees, I guess it isn't good that a hacker got arrested. /s

Ok, he tried to help, but at the end of the day, a hacker is a criminal.

Ocelot5252584d ago

you got disagrees because you suck at reading articles

tigertron2584d ago (Edited 2584d ago )

I'd love you to explain why.

"Cleary gained notoriety amongst the hacking community in May, after disassociating himself with former allies Anonymous - before launching an IRC attack on the AnonOps messageboards."

He was an ex Anon helper, left the group, hacked them. Got arrested. How is that sucking at reading articles? *Facepalm*

fullmetal2972584d ago

Again, Anonymous isn't some elite club, so nobody can't become "member". Anonymous can be really compared to protesters on the streets. Changes of everyone knowing is slim, but they join together for a common cause and can do massive damage in groups.
