The teenager arrested in Essex today in connection with LulzSec's widespread digital attacks is an ex-member of PSN hackers Anonymous.
"teenager" So...They're definitely kids that think they're being SO COOL AND EDGY then.
... The dude is 19 years old. That's an adult in most places. That, and he's mainly just an IRC admin and was responsible for ATTACKING anonymous. If anything, it's a bad thing he got caught as he was trying to hinder Anonymous.
The second part of my statement still stands.
^ Fine then, a bunch of kids who think they're cool are somehow taking down Government sites, attacking the CIA and FBI, stealing databases sporadically from major corporations, and have still yet to be caught.
He only tried to hinder anonymous because they actually have begun to fight for "causes." I say that with quotes because...their causes are laughable at best. People like this guy and the rest of lulzsec do what they do for entertainment, they came out and said it numerous times. There is no greater good, even in their minds. They just want to grief people. Let him rot in jail.
Member of lulzsec huh? Looks like he's going to be an official member of buttsecs in prison.
You need a bubble for that one.
I would bet this person has nothing or little to do with the main attacks. I would think the people involved are smart enough not to get caught. One thing that I have heard over the last few months from listening to Julian Assange interviews is about the laws of certain countries when it comes to the internet. It seems that the servers of certain countries strip packets of their identification info as they pass them along in accordance with their Constitution. I would think an experienced hacker would know which ones and would always send attacks through those countries.
Hopefully he leaks the location of the other guys to lessen his punishment or something. A bas lulzsec.
Anonymous member? But if he was Anonymous how do they know he was a member? No one in Anonymous is going to say yeah I remember him, Anonymous. He was a bit of a knob. Also, Wickford, ha!
Good to see Anonymous getting pwned.
Judging by the stealth disagrees, I guess it isn't good that a hacker got arrested. /s Ok, he tried to help, but at the end of the day, a hacker is a criminal.
you got disagrees because you suck at reading articles
I'd love you to explain why. "Cleary gained notoriety amongst the hacking community in May, after disassociating himself with former allies Anonymous - before launching an IRC attack on the AnonOps messageboards." He was an ex Anon helper, left the group, hacked them. Got arrested. How is that sucking at reading articles? *Facepalm*
Again, Anonymous isn't some elite club, so nobody can't become "member". Anonymous can be really compared to protesters on the streets. Changes of everyone knowing is slim, but they join together for a common cause and can do massive damage in groups.
So he isn't a member of lulzsec? And he got caught after Anonymous found and leaked his personal details? This affair is starting to become quite crazy.
so now anonymous is going after lulzsec? civil war? haha lol
stupid kids spending all day after school learning to hack. So timmy what are you doing later today. I dunno, maybe hack some stuff like I've been doing for the last 10 years....
Based on what there capable of, I wouldn't call them "stupid kids"
Well, he's older than most of the people on N4G
well, that makes it all okay then. A one hundred year old bastard is still a bastard.
"ex-member of anonymous" Confirmed for not know what the fuck you're talking about, there's no membership process to ANONYMITY. Morons
