Xbox 360 Tops in Purchase Intent During E3

Xbox 360 has seen plenty of momentum, as NPD noted in its last monthly report that Microsoft's platform has realized nearly a year and a half of month-over-month unit sales increases. And even during E3, with the spotlight on Nintendo and Wii U and Sony attempting to showcase its new Vita as well as upcoming PS3 games, Microsoft still had the upper hand.

No surprise, MS have the most must have exclusives and all the big multiplatforms were shown on the the 360.

@-EvoAnubis-
Go back and count and you will see the 360 showed more exclusives

They had exclusives? Where? You mean Halo? Please don't tell me you're talking about the Kinect crap they're trying to shove down our throats.

Edit: @Zir0 - I thought we were talking, to quote you, "must have exclusives." Which would be Gears 3, and two Halo games. So that'd be three. Unless I missed something; I'll admit I dozed off for about twenty minutes during the event.

news4geeks2253d ago

He's talking about disneyland adventures and sesame street. No joke, they are the must have games for the casuals. Bound to increase sales.

-EvoAnubis-2253d ago

Yeah, the Kinect crap. That's what I said. I'll admit that I could see my nephew liking those games, but the E3 press conference was kinda a dumb place to talk about them. The people that would like games like that weren't watching it. They could have just thrown a few commercials on Disney channel and Nick Jr. and that would have done it.

Redgehammer2253d ago

@EvoAnubis
Why wouldn't a global media briefing be the place to talk about a consoles upcoming games?

@kingdoms
well said-- I am looking forward to trying the Kinect augmented experiences.

-EvoAnubis-2253d ago

@RedgeHammer: Mainly because you have to consider your audience. In the crowd are enthusiast gaming press. Watching around the world are your hardcore gamers, not your casual crowd.

Example: This year will see the PS3 release of games like Ape Escape for the PS Move, Hasbro Family Game Night 4, Disney Universe, Happy Feet 2, and Puss in Boots.

Those weren't at the conference. Because their audience wouldn't care. There's a time and a place, and for many of the games MS talked about, this was neither.

This news isn't surprising seeing how the 360 won G4's hottest topic poll during E3. Most gamers ranked the 360 as having the best offerings they ate excited about and care about. As if the explosion in 360 sales widening the gap to over 5 million didn't say this already. N4G does not = the world, ps3 fanboys do not represent hardcore gamers and casuals.

Now you know why ps fans where trying to speak for the masses trying to falsely represent how the masses think and feel about kinect after E3. Those core kinect hybrid games got a sh!tload of gamers excited. Most gamers knew this because G4 was updating what gamers where talking about everyday during the show.

Turn 10, Bioware and Ubisoft are going to sell millions mire of copies of their games.

BubbleSniper2253d ago (Edited 2253d ago )

you mean the must have wave your arms exclusives that can *ONLY* be done on the Xbox 360™

MS conference was the most watched because the fans thought they'd pull out the bigs guns, some people thought they'd blast E3 with a new console reveal, some thought more stolen "exclusives"

some other people thought we'd see sequels to popular franchises revealed on the ms stage... all the assumptions were pretty much wrong.

stop backpedaling. even the gaming media blasted ms E3 conference.
