The divorce talk: Origin and Steam (Bitmob)

EA's zealous endorsement of its newly rechristened digital download service -- Origin -- espouses healthy competition and a simple method of accessing the company's vast library of games. In reality, it's a shaky separation from Valve's long established Steam platform.

The story is too old to be commented.

I'm being endorse? just messing

guess ppl who wanted the steam version of the "exclusive" ea game(s) will probably just buy the game(s) on a disc, if they dislike Origin so much. In the end you're still supporting EA. So they are going to get your money one way or another unless you just don't buy any of there games. That would be going a little over the edge for dislike of origin though.

"So they are going to get your money one way or another unless you just don't buy any of there games."

This is a business/customer relationship not some love/hate deal.

The customer if he buys it on steam, origin, or retail is going to buy it regardless. That same pc gaming customer is given a choice if it's not on steam. Buy it retail or add another DD platform to the growing list of platforms on their pc.

You're acting as if there will be instant rage and boycotts otherwise. It's simple if its not on steam you can go retail to keep bloatware off your pc. It's nothing personal it's just business.

it's just another simple 2 second decision we make in our lives. You act like we're going to take up arms or something.

You are my reading comment just a little too hard. When I was typing I could care less about "going to take up arms or something". What I had on my mind was all the ppl complaining about origin, no matter if it was up on here or on FB

"You're acting as if there will be instant rage and boycotts otherwise. It's simple if its not on steam you can go retail to keep bloatware off your pc. It's nothing personal it's just business"

You basically restated what stated see(minus the rage part)...

"guess ppl who wanted the steam version of the "exclusive" ea game(s) will probably just buy the game(s) on a disc, if they dislike Origin so much."

Pointed this out b/c regardless if you dislike origin they are still going to get your money if you want they are publishing bad enough. So where this " love/hate deal." thing come from?
