There was outcry when the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 poked its ugly 720p head up on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. There shouldn't be. Battlefield 3 will still look awesome on console | FPS Tribe
1. It wasn't 720p, it was in Alpha and it still looked great. 2. See reason #1
Correction it was in pre-alpha beta i believe. They said to wait for the Alpha beta.
all this shows how we're used to Cod's crappy visuals
It clearly doesnt console to console, but if you want the true battlefield experience you need to get in on PC. The PC version is miles better then PS3/Xbox. 64 players, dedi servers, full stat tracking, support, instant patching etc. Too bad i need to make a new PC to run it.
how can you have a pre-alpha beta? let alone an alpha beta?
Pc version is def the way to go.
PC version: 1)Better gameplay, mouse and keyboard 2)Bigger maps, its confrimed, console version has little maps. 3)More players, more stuff, hell yea :D 4)Better grahpic :D 5)60FPS 6)Servers, server browser. I dont like P2P system. There are so many reason why Battlefield belongs to PC
PS3 version no doubt, if you want your tags taken come to that system. @Substance101 reading these comments from these "pc players" your more kids than the stereotypical 360 gamer if not worst, you all sound like gamestop employees pushing items on to people who already made up there mind on what they want to own. To each his own people “The people to fear are not those who disagree with you, but those who disagree with you and are too cowardly to let you know.” — Napoleon Bonaparte
Well not only is the PC version superior, its also got the most mature crowd. PC gamers tend to work together unlike the kids on console, which actually makes the experience all the better. Gosh my friends when they play on console they actually have to mute everyone just so they dont hear the kids screaming.
@ Substance101 is that backed up bz some research?i,for example, while playing bfbc2 online, always play in the squad with my gf and some friends,we always try to help others however we can.and just because there are some gamers who tend to go solo,or vocally abuse others,it doesnt mean that all console gamers do that.you have ppl like that on pc as well, you know.or perhaps you dont.
yes it does matter and yes i'll play it on PC
MOST IMPORTANTLY! The PC version doesnt have the exclusive pre order DLC fiasco that the console version are having. On PC people can easily share the codes.
don't matter for me. I'm a student, skint and would rather buy a 3D tv than a new £1000 PC to get this game as good as everyone else is saying. PS3 it is. As long as it looks better than Bad Company 2 I will be very happy!
1. PC 2. PS3 3. Xbox
Doesnt mean there going to reskin all the characters and environments and up the polygon count Lol.. All this mean is they need to test for bugs and shiz haha they may improve lighting ever so slightly but this is what it will look like..
Well if BF3 doesn't get released on Steam, then I'll be getting the PS3 version.
PS3 for me.
Why limit your experience on purpose, get the PC version ;-) no need to be limited lol.
Same, getting a copy for me and my brother. Can't wait.
Lol, why sould I limit my experience by buying it for PS3? I don't have a gaming PC. I play on PS3. I love Dualshock and PS3. Maybe your limited in other areas.
@Kratos You pretty much limited your gaming experience by not having a gaming PC.
If you have a pc that can handle the game better than a console, feel free to buy it on PC. Console gamers will naturally purchase the console version. What's up with the disagrees ?
Well my pc is limited and I am gonna buy the ps3 version!
so ps3 for me. inb4 snobby pc gamers ruin the fun and judge my preference.
getting it on ps3 as well, will be a blast to play^^
@ Substance PS3 limited gaming experience, don't joke! eg. Uncharted series, Killzone, MGS4!, God of War, GT 5, Infamous, Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire... All those great games, and more... you won't find them on PC buddy.
@stu888 And yet people still go for that over actual logical descriptions, and instead jump the bandwagon of rallying behind people on this site. The irony of this all, is that the console has parts of a PC.
Does it really matter which platform you play it on? For me, Yes No need Disagree, i dont hate consoles, i still love Uncharted and Gears of War, great games and grahpic graphic. For Battlefield 3, i take PC version, 64 players, better gameplay, servers, better grahpic and bigger maps.
This article makes two mistakes: 1) The texture quality of that BF3 screenshot is clearly below that in the Killzone 3/Uncharted 3 screens. No cross-platformer on the PS3 will ever look as good as a game programmed specifically with the PS3 hardware in mind, and this won't be an exception. It will look good. It won't look UC3 good. 2) He implies that resolution (1080p vs. 720p) and framerate are the only graphical advantage to the PC version. I *highly* doubt this. The PC will likely have better textures, lighting, and animation. I am super excited for this game, but both sides of this graphics argument are going off the rails. Did DICE mislead some gamers if only by their relative silence on the console version (until the unveil last week)? Yes. Does the PC version look better? Yes. Will the console version be the best looking console game ever? No. Will it look bad? No. Will it be the best looking cross-platformer? Probably. And the most important question: will the game be awesome on all platforms? YES. Stop worrying.
It actually does. If you want a higher player count then you need to play it on the PC. Buying a game simply for a slight graphical improvement is stupid if you ask me. If you don't care about the player difference then just buy it for your preferred system. Easy enough.
yup cuz you know the 64 player maps are gonna be bigger crammed with tons more armor and airfields full of jets and choppers im guessing console versions will get the 16-32 player size maps like bf2
I agree. There is obviously more than one difference between the PC and Console version
Pc version is best
Depends on your PC to some extent, now doesn't it? But if you've got a solid PC, yeah.
