This game is NOT easily lost in the crowd of all the "AAA" titles. At least if you consider yourself a gamer you know you are going to try it before passing judgement on it.

Also this game could be compared to the PS3 exclusive FOLKLORE. Both received good scores ( come on a 70 % plus is a good score, 80 is very good and 90 is amazing); both get its fanbase and both seemed to get lost with the other titles. That wasnt because other titles were better, it was because they didnt receive the same hype and promotion from both the publishers and the media.

Look at how M$ used millions to promote Kinect as the second coming and they succeded, you know how rabid Kinect fanboys are when you talked something negative about it... just look at the dissagrees I will get. . . Anyway, Im having a lot of fun with Alice, and on the 360 its really one of the most fun games I played this year, even funnier than Crysis 2 to me. Its a game that the 360 needed more to add variety to the console. I hope people buy it and not let it had a bad launch like ALAN WAKE... everyone buyed Alan when it drops to $20. I hope people start to apreciate games other than FPS. That way we wont be bombarded with FPS after FPS...

Reviews are mixed when it comes to duke from what i've seen posted around here and other sites , ranging from 2.5 to even 7 .

And even then that's quite more than the game even deserves ..

this game is fun and the combat is well done. The visuals are colorful and the art style is cool. But it's sad that these types of game aren't being made any more. Im mean really, were are all the damn platformers!

Seeing your avatar I know that you enjoy good platformers. Thats why NINTENDO succeed and diferentiates them with Sony and MS. To bad that only NINTENDO platformers are the only ones that are well received from the media.

The examples are there. Darksiders was an adventure game like Zelda snd have better figthing mecanics but the media take jabs at it for being a wannabe and not having good graphics ( they dont say that about Ocarina of Time's N64 graphics on the 3DS). That jabs the media took at some platforming games are making devs opt for the COD FPS clone number 300. Thats what I dont like about this gen... Thast why I have a Wii for my platforming tastes and thats why overall I preffer the PS3 as a more diverse console. But thats just me dont attack me for being honest. I have a 360 but sincerely I can live without it. I am like you, Im in need of good platformers that arent Nintendo made.

Where is Banjo, Conker and Kameo 2 MS??? Where is Jak and Daxter, Tomba and others SONY?? Everybody critises NINTY for the Mario games but at least they and INMSOMNIAC keep the genre alive. Thanks for games Like Alice devs ... I will keep suporting you no matter the score on META.

EDIT: to below... I specify that Inmsomniac is keeping the genre alive. Of course its my bad that I forget the guys at Media Molecule and LBP and LBP2. I dont mention Sly because at least they have a new one coming and thats great!! I will buy it for sure. But generally speaking its NINTY the ones who depend on the succes of platformers... Its being like 100 years since they have a really succesfull new IP.

uh ? you seems to have forgotting about all the ratchet and clank games , little big planet , and sly raccoon .
Plenty titles also strives and succeed as PSN/XBLA remake or new games . Hell it's basically a comeback of 2d platforming

I agree that the genre shouldnt be struggling as much as it does now but only nintendo ? come on Braid and Super meat boy did happen , among many other things ...

And while i agree with points like darksiders , it was an even bigger fail from the press . People would still be impressed by a zelda wannabe ... instead they tried to lump it as some random god of war clone

and so far it's one of the best games of the year for me, up there with L.A Noire, Portal 2, LBP 2 and Yakuza 4. The art design and variety of the environments is just astonishing.

Incredible game...though, most of you probably know that by now by reading my constant praises. But, honestly it's true. This game is CRIMINALLY underrated. The game has flaws, but a 5/10? Give me a break. It's an incredible game that is defintly a game of the year contender in my book.

People who have in any reservations based off the reviews, please, for the love of god just go with your gut, and purchase it. I seriously doubt you'll regret it.

Yeah. It's strange, because I'm a huge Enslaved fan (as strong as some of the fan critics are), but I'm still confused how polar the 2 games are.

Enslaved was far from a perfect game, and had a pelothera of issues, yet scored really highly with critic. Hell even EDGE gave Enslaved a 8.

Yet here's Alice, which is just as imperfect, but still DOES A shit ton things right, and get's a 5/10 from some reviewers? This just BOGGLES my mind.

Really? AA is barely affecting my FPS, I run it maxed out except for Physx because I have an ATI card. I know i dont REQUIRE an Nvidia card for Physx but i dont bother

AA is terrible in this game, I disabled it and forced AA through CCC on my ATI card. Works a lot better.

Really awesome game. Really confused as to how it has a metacritic lower than Homefront, but whatever. That's the current gaming industry for ya'. If it doesn't have guns, or micheal bay set pieces than it's a 6/10 for u!!!!!

I'd have to agree with others as well. Goty candidate for me as well. Real sleeper hit, that came out of no where. Real unique as well. It's like a mixture of Tim Burton to the power of 100.

Have you played Alice 2? If you haven't then you really shouldn't talk. From the outside looking in, you'd think Alice 2 is a medicore game. But it's SO Much more than that.

It's like Kingdom Hearts + Beetle Juice + The corpse Bride + Alice in Wonderland folk lore=Fuckin awesome experience.

These constant praises from all these people aren't coming from our asses. This game is really THAT good.

It's unique, it's original, it's creepy, it's haunting, it's daunting, it's beautiful, it's surreal, it's erry. So MANY words I can use to sum how a awesome game this truly is.

Today games themselves don't matter to reviewers. It all boils down to the hype produced and who is behind it. God forbid a low-profile studio makes an excellent game.. They'll be smacked around from all sides.

Yep, I'm loving every minute of it so far. It's certainly not the most polished or varied game out there but it's got imagination up the kaboose. The port of the first game is great too, it looks fantastic and is just as imaginative but jeeeez, games didn't screw around back then in terms of difficulty.

Alice has further proven to me that reviews are whack and shouldn't be listened to. To put it into perspective, this year I've bought Killzone 3, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Little Big Planet 2, a 3DS, Super Street Fighter IV 3D, Ocarina of Time 3D, LA Noire and a bunch of older games, and among them all, however good they all are, save for LA Noire, I knew what to expect from them. And as such, Alice still stands out for me. I've been playing it for a fair bit today and finding it strangely addictive.

It's not a perfect game. But it's refreshing. I love the art direction, the varied environments, the voice acting and quirky character designs and the gameplay is simple but fun. It doesn't try and force itself to innovate. And if it's guilty of something, it's guilty of trying to be a good platformer, which, imo, it is. Just started Chapter 2, but this is shaping up to be one of my favorite games of the year so far. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is at al.

Alice 2 looks really good to me and I do plan on buying it new. Because it comes with part one but I'm kind of broke right now lol. Maybe next week. I support things I like or interested in. Just not sure wether to get it for 360 or ps3. Don't have many 360 games since I started as a ps3 only owner at first
