'Multiplayer will never beat an amazing story'

CVG - Something I noticed lately in games, developers seem obsessed with multi-player and they lose focus on single-player. Ever since the rise of Call Of Duty, developers put more attention into online.

NO IT WON'T! I always buy games for the story. I grew up on playing games for the story because thats all that came with a game years back. Its probably the reason I hold the Sly series & Jak and Daxter games etc so close to me because I grew up on that, and cared for their amazing storys. Thats the reason Im so fond of Uncharted, Infamous, God of war, and especially Heavy Rain which is soo underrated.

I wish multiplayer would exist in Multiplayer games only. I hate to see a game with an amazing story being more focused on the MP.

It's like people asking for Co-op in the single play of Uncharted. It just wouldn't work for a number of reasons, yes there is someone with you for half the game but ND have a nice balance of an AI tagging along for conversation and those alone solo chapters where it feels like it's you against the world. It's the whole point ND are focusing more on co-op online.

I think Multiplayer can destroy a game or make it better but it's very rare when you get a game where it dosen't effect the single player, for example, Uncharted 2 it just didn't feel tacked on like Dead Space 2 or Bioshock 2's multiplayer.

Oh and look how Co-op/Multiplayer killed RE5, please try and tell me that this concept art with Single player in mind isn't good.

I can't agree more with this. Call of Duty killed the industry.

My roommate and BC2 squadmate only really plays fps. Now I LOVE playing BC2 don't get me wrong. But I will always take a "Ocarina of Time" or "Mass Effect"(just to name the first 2 that come to mind) over any multiplayer.

That's my piece.
