‘Wanderlust: Rebirth’ Review – Retro Reborn | IGM

Anyone who has been a gamer for the past two decades has a love affair with at least one old-school RPG. Whether it’s Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, or one of the first Zelda or Final Fantasy games, there is something unique about those retro titles that reminds us how good gaming was in its relatively early days. Wanderlust: Rebirth is a new indie release for the PC that attempts to combine the aesthetics of those nostalgic titles and combine them with updated gameplay elements.

Indie-Ana Co-Op and the Wanderlust

Jason Love: "There are days when I wish I still had my old SNES and could come home, plop down on the couch, and play one of my favorite action RPGs of all time – the Secret of Mana. One of the main reasons I enjoyed the game as much as I did was that it allowed a friend to join me in my quest to save the world. Other action RPGs have come and gone over the years, but very few of them have done the co-op as well as it did – assuming they had co-op at all. While my search for the next Secret of Mana continues, I have found a rather interesting blend of console action RPG and MMO in Wanderlust: Rebirth."
