Gaming has come a long way,and along with it we’ve seen quite a few changes. Currently, in this generation, it seems as if motion control gaming is the way to go.
I'm personally not a fan of motion control gaming, but all three companies are pushing it hard.
I wouldn't say Motion control gaming is the future. It's actually current generation gaming. the PS9 trailer shown at e3 a few years ago was truly the future of gaming. The power of the brain mixed into technology.
There's only a matter time before things get left behind. In this gen, ppl will roll with anything new.
Tbh PS9 didn't look all that fun.
"Motion Control Gaming, Next Best Thing?" That seems like a question from 2006...
Whether we want it or not we are getting it.
I'm kind of sick of seeing the motion gaming thing too!
its really not the way to go. The traditional controller hasnt been beat yet.
motion control makes me sick....i highly dislike Kinect, ps move and the wii....if next gen is all about motion control im going to be a pc gamer
also motion control appeals more to the children and family consumers....thats why its so successful
Seriously, what's so special about waggling around like a fool? Go play outside. I play games to chillax.
the only thing i honestly have like about the wii and move is the shooter controls, except when they have the knife to a waggle function.
Its the thing for this gen, I think next gen we will see it but it won't be as big of a deal as this gen. Kinect Move (A kinect cam working with Move) could be the biggest thing for next gen (If it ever happens).
Maybe next gen we should see keyboard and mouse support for all console games? I think that could get alot of PC users wanting to play console alittle bit more, don't know if it would work. But I would like it, that and being able to play games like COD on my PS3 an have 360 users online in the same game (Kind like PC playing with PS3 users/360 users).
Its cool to see motion controller gaming but I really don't want it to take place of a regular controller. Having an option is nice, so it would be good if all games could use both controllers.
just sold my psmove and navi controller the other day. Dont see the point in it unless they have the adequate buttons and games to go with it. For now the only thing that makes sense is kinect for fitness and dancing games. The WiiU types of controllers are the next big thing. Next thing you know consoles are gonna be obsolete cause handhelds are gonna be powerful enough to replace them all together.
I don't think we have seen anything that uses motion control that's really wowed us and made us think yeah that's why they made motion control.
Its almost as if motion controls have fizzled and lost a bit of charm. Look at the wii, the games are not as impressive and most of them are redundant. And now the WiiU is coming with a more standard controller with motion built in but not really the focus. Then you have Move which besides kz3 is not really getting a whole lot of support. And then there's Kinect which....well...it's kinect...
Japan started with arcade motion drums, pads, ddr, etc so you can be active during gameplay. Once I saw a stand with a pole and on top a set of handlebars with buttons to control say any fps. Was compatible for any system, and required lots of tourk strength to move around. Great for building pecs and arm tone. However, the kinect and microsoft have some ideas about beer drinkers, and with Fable: The Journey and entire game only for kinect, you drive your horse or travel around from the seat of any couch or chair. Do I want to wave my arms around to play a game... not really... give me a mouse and keyb, or controller if nec and i'm all set. But for innovation and to be more active, these devices are selling well. We used our Wii Fit maybe 4 times total... (as well as the Wii unit itself.) However, I'm a mouse potato. That's where I stand.
