IGN - One woman wonders why she can't find any other women playing space MMO Black Prophecy.
It's true. There's no politically correct way of saying this--more men game. Developers often target their games to men, so men play them. It's that simple. If we can get past gender-biases then maybe that will open up gaming to a wider audience--and no, I don't mean more SIM games. I'm talking about stronger female leads, not women with big boobs who need to be rescued. I'm talking about more meaningful character development, better dialog, deeper stories and less testosterone. Those ideas are gender neutral, still help gaming grow as a whole, and would probably move the gender imbalance more towards the centre.
Agreed but we do have some strong female leads already.. ~ Female Shephard ~ Faith ~ Nariko ( Sexualized but strong and independent ) ~ Samus ~ Jade ~ Lightning ~ Alyx ~ The Boss I think this is a great start when it comes to women portrayal in video games.. While men are the main target audience.. there isno denying that, i find more women these days enjoying an expansion of video game genres
Good point, I like a lot of those characters.
true that, it doesn't matter to me Male or Female that factor doesn't phase me.
