If you were watching on Tuesday, than you would have caught a glimpse of what almost seems like the secret release of the Resistance 3 Demo. Though, it's been announced across multiple outlets, few have journeyed on the Oily Moss the demo features.
Is this releasing on the Store anytime soon?
I got the river boat demo from the Singapore store a few days ago and it was awesome it's great that they're switching back to the first Resistance style: lone wolf with heavy focus on story (and weapon wheel with health packs)
you said it!.... #2 was ok, but the stuff you mentioned should have never been taken out to begin with.....can't wait for #3.
Indeed! It was a great demo.
is this the same demo from the singapore store or something new? Because I don't really want the movie
I got it too, but off of the battle LA bluray. I was skeptical at first because I saw ign's video of the demo first. They totally rip on the game the whole time, and to be honest I thought it was going to suck. However after playing it myself I can say it rocks. Also I'm never taking another opinion off ign seriously EVER again. In fact I think I may just avoid their website altogether.
Glad I'm not the only one that appreciated Resistance 1. The first one imo was excellent. The story was compelling, the atmosphere spot on (considering the world was ending), you had access to more than 2 weapons, etc, etc. I didn't like the sequel one bit. Hopefully Resistance 3 brings back the magic of the first one and I can forget R2 ever happened.
I picked up the single disc version of the movie and played the demo. Wow. The game play, the weapon wheel. Just great to see all of that back...and on steroids. As always the Rossmore kills bugs dead. But the graphics. It all looks great but there were a few moments when it looked like they had colorized and tinted actually live footage. The part where they are climbing onto the boat is amazing. One thing I did notice is the Resistance 3 sticker only appears on the single disc version and not on the Bluray/DVD combo pack. All of the press releases state that it comes on "the Bluray single disc" rather than "on a single Bluray disc with the movie". Maybe it is on the combo pack version but I wasn't going to spend $27 to find out.
Resistance 3 has some sick graphics, look at the latest Dev Diary from PS blog: http://www.youtube.com/watc... Mind blowing, I know. =p
This game will be awesome I'm sure .
I second that!
they talking about the Battle LA blu ray version?
You get the demo and Battle LA theme from the blu-ray movie.
Can someone please read the article so I don't have to!
Sure thing. The article says. "If you were watching on Tuesday, than you would have caught a glimpse of what almost seems like the secret release of the Resistance 3 Demo. Though, it's been announced across multiple outlets, few have journeyed on the Oily Moss the demo features. Well, if your one of the many who haven't experienced the Resistance 3 demo, the best time to do so it is about to pass. The Resistance 3 demo is feature as a limited time offer on select Blu-Ray Disc versions of the movie, Battle Los Angeles. Currently the Blu-Ray version of the movie is having it's release week sale, which, has it retailing for 15.96 at Wall-Mart. That's five dollars cheaper than the normal twenty dollar price tag most Blu-Rays launch with, during a for release week sale. Saturday is the last day to take part in the sale. The limited demo packaging's expiration is still unknown. However, getting a fairly descent movie, and a early look at Resistance 3(30 Minute Demo) is not a bad deal. Look out for our complete hands on from E3 2011 in a few days. For now you can enjoy the demo for your self, if you pick up Battle Los Angeles."
"Currently the Blu-Ray version of the movie is having it's release week sale, which, has it retailing for 15.96 at Wall-Mart" Huh....I still don't really want to spend $16 on Battle LA :/ But I do REALLY want to play the R3 demo. Dilemma. EDIT: It's on-disc. A-renting we will go, a-renting we will go, hi hoe the dairyo....
Resistance is awesome!
Yup this is the last year I game on these current gen consoles and for me r3, U3 and a few more will wet my appetite.
Please close the door on your way out.
You just giving up on gaming or something??
I cant get on the site since it wont load. was hoping it was hidden on PSN or something. Dont want to buy a crappy movie just to play the demo...
Hey the movie is quite good. Might be the best thing released thus far.
Then movies you are seeing must really suck lol
@Soldierone To be honest, the 2011 movies as a whole have sucked pretty hard so far. Battle: LA, The Eagle, and Priest are the only good ones I've seen this year...Pirates 4 just...God, that movie sucked.
@Soldierone Thus is the reason why i stopped watching American movies.....LMFAO. 4 out of every 10 are good. I lost faith in the American Cinematography ages ago. Since they are mostly remakes or rip offs. And i agree with DrakBlack, the movies he mentions are basically the best ones released thus far. Now to call Battle:LA crappy makes me wonder what types of movies you like and have been watching.
Go watch Xmen and Super 8, they are both good movies and better then anything you listed there.
Sucker Punch and X-Men First Class are very good, Thor was OK, the rest sucked
@Washington-Capitals Im quite interested in Super 8, but Xmen......nah. Ill pass on that one. Too much milking the franchise Halo style!
What's Super 8? Not sure if I've seen anything about that .. But, X-Men, I do wanna see, lol. And, I thought Battle:LA was pretty good.
@soliderone *Then movies you see must really suck in my opinion lol* fixed exactly man its just an opinion not a fact like you stated
@darkblood I didn't know I specifically had to state "in my opinion" thought it was rather obvious. I hated it because it was nothing more than a long Marines commercial. There were some good points to it, so it didn't completely suck. However compared to Sucker Punch visually, Super 8 story wise, and Thor blockbuster wise....its far from "the best movie so far" and I guess ill add it here "in my opinion."
@Washington-Capitals I'm a huge comic book geek, but I have zero interest in seeing X-Men: First Class after the horror that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Also, Super 8 looks really J.J. Abrams'y. Like E.T. and Cloverfield had a baby, and I didn't like either of those movies. :P
rent the movie on blu-ray and you will get the demo
No you wont the demo is on a voucher in the case it is not on the disc it self don't bother renting just for the demo you will be wasting money
Your wrong the demo is not on a voucher its on the disc. I have the movie all you have to do is install it from the disc to your ps3. You don't download anything.
The demo isn't on a voucher, i work at a video store, you just need to rent the blu ray version and you'll be able to play the demo straight off the disk i assume.
Your wrong PLSTCSLDGR the game is on the disc!!!!
a friend of mine bought the blu ray...its on the disc...when you put in the disc under the movie section of the xmb the movie pops up...under game the little blu ray disc appears and its the demo...i'm not sure if it just plays off the disc, or if you have to install it or anything, he didn't say...lots of games have done the opposite recently...GT5 comes with several trailers on the disc itself, you just would never realize it unless you went over the to the movie column with the disc inserted... but I haven't verified its on a rental disc...lots of film publishers have separate discs for rentals that either have more trailers, or less, and less features like commentaries, etc...just check the box when you rent the movie, it should say what version you are renting...
Site wont load ffs :/
xmen first class- excellent movie. youre missing out if you dont watch it.
X-men: First Class was amazing, I would highly recommend it to pretty much anyone. Thor was also a very good film, a great warm up for The Avengers.
Agreed! It's my number three this year behind Super 8 and Bridesmaids. (Seriously...if you haven't seen Bridesmaids, please do. It's freaking hilarious!)
...but WTF does that have to do with the R3 demo?
This is great news if S0ny can keep the network up long enough for me to actually go get it.
Maybe they should have packaged it with a better film...
x men needed a reboot.
sorry fellas above me but the demo is not on the bluray disk i just rented it and all it has is a theme for the movie no demo. im thinking its also a voucher . wouldnt make sence otherwise
i bought the blu-ray tuesday from best buy and it's on it. the thing is its a special limited edition blu-ray. i lent the movie to a couple of my friends so they can install it on their systems. so again its a special limited edition blu-ray from best buy. it has to specifically say it comes with the resistance 3 demo.
yea it doesn't make sence to give it away with the rental only those who buy it. aah well bummer for me man .i got really excited when reading the comments and ran to put it in but bam nothing haha.
thats what i was saying higher up...most places you rent the movie from probably won't carry the 'special edition' as a rental...they just have a basic rental disc with the movie and very few extras...so finding a rental of the version that has the demo would probably be tough...
he doesn't look like Capelli to me.
I love Resistance,.. (I know some people disliked R2, because it was less gritty.. I actually thought it was phenomenal -Less bullets to kill enemies and it just felt so visceral,.. Fuck I love R2,.. spent 80+hours on Coop alone) This is probably going to be my personal goty (or Dark Souls),.. It is probably not going to push hardware a lot, but I love the Resistance universe and the unique flavor of it's visuals and art style,..
I played it at E3 and they pretty much abandoned all that was R2. The only real elements I could catch that were the same were level designs and color of the environment. In other words its not entirely gray, it has some greenery. Gameplay pretty much returned to RFOM. The enemies are extremely hard to kill compared to R2 and take a crap ton of bullets. There were a few that died rather fast, but I went through several clips killing 3 or 4 guys.
That is kinda what I was afraid of,.. but since it looks they took leveling-up of weapons from Ratchet,.. maybe they do more damage later on,.. still,.. I am a bit nervous,..
i have played it like 4 or 5 times already , yep i like it that much , remind me of Resistance Fall of Man , Resistance is BACK!!!!
I enjoyed R2 but liked R1 more, very happy to hear it's more like R1. It was the only exciting looking game at Sony's e3 presentation to me. U3 seemed too familar, already had seen the starhawk footage.
I really want the demo but i don't want to buy that awful movie.
Oh for the love of Christ, just put it on the fucking Store instead of doing crap like this! Who the hell would buy a shitty film just to play a demo, anyway?!!
anyone who enjoyed the movie like I did.
I wish they did this with cloverfield. especially with that 'scene' in R2. (yall kno what im talking about) I doubt its a spoiler if I say what it is but I'll just not say it just in case
I planned on picking up R3 I finished the first two so why not
