A Fight for Freedom: Cutscenes in Games

Game Podunk blogger, RDAwesome writes, "When it comes to media, the two most important things to me are story and character. Whether it be movie, book or game, I want to be drawn in by it. It's for this reason that I prefer the action/adventure and, to a greater degree, RPG genres in games. Unfortunately, these genres (especially RPGs) are afflicted with a terrible and awesome thing: Cutscenes. Whoa, whoa, hey, calm down, calm down. I'm not saying that I hate cutscenes, let me explain! I actually like cutscenes. It's just that most cutscenes have some super-issues, ones that, were they addressed, would make games a much more fulfilling and cohesive experience."
