IGN - Transformers: Dark of the Moon Review

IGN - Transformers: Dark of the Moon feels like another casualty in the movie-game war of short deadlines. The ideas for something great are certainly here, because the fundamentals were pulled from a great game. But Transformers: Dark of the Moon stretches what High Moon Studios had time to build across too much game, leading to a dull, frustrating endeavor that feels even longer than it is.

I don't get it, the first game (War for Cybertron) got a 9.0, if this game is "more of the same", how the hell did it get a 6? WFC was incredible!

It may have been rushed, but surely the mechanics that made WFC great are still in there. The review does say much, just that it "sucks".

"The thing is, in Stealth Force mode, your character can take much more punishment than he can in robot form -- a 180 from War for Cybertron."

"The giant, expansive journey through War for Cybertron's alien world is replaced by small levels whose playtime is artificially expanded by the "survive multiple waves of bad guys in a locked room" motif."

"the three-player cooperative play and Escalation survival modes haven't returned in Transformers"

It's similar, but they changed a good amount (the mechanics that made WFC great) and removed the co-op. You may still like it though, you never know.

Good call man. Too bad they killed a good thing.

This game was destined to suck even though it's made by the same team for War for Cybertron.

Don't listen to the review. This game is great. They just don't get it.

The game isn't that bad. It's not amazing, but it's a lot better than most other movie games out there.
