US PlayStation boss says more affordable monitors will greatly boost adoption.
in our faces. *fixed*
Within 3 years over 50 million people will have a 3DS.
@DarkCharizard_ - The way 3DS is selling a seriously doubt it.
Why has DarkCharizard still got 3 bubbles. He's been trolling in just about every positive Sony article since E3. Dark Charizard, I can assure you I'm no PS3 fanboy lol I'm a huge Nintendo fan. Just as much I am a fan of Sony. In fact seeing as you spend more time talking down other companies on here rather than playing games, I probably own more Nintendo games than you too. Vita will be a success. So will 3DS. I know you feel threatened by the fact that the Vita is at a competitive price point, all the while boasting tech a generation ahead of the 3DS, but your damage control is becoming beyond tiresome. Can everyone band together and please reduce this guys bubbles. How he has more than me, I just don't know. People used to say Nintendo owned the console space. Yet Sony demolished them two generations in a row despite being the new kid on the block so to speak. Please think about that for a second. And no, the killer titles start this week. Ocarina of Time 3D comes out on friday. In fact I should have my copy on thursday. Sucks to be you I guess.
3D growth has been nothing, but slow. If the 3DS sold well, I would re-consider it, but everything 3D has sold poorly sans the few early 3D movies released in the theater. I'm not entirely sure if it was a price issue to begin with, which I initially thought. I guess once we essentially get 3D for free with the TV instead of a premium price tag, then maybe... but those glasses really aren't comfortable and long periods of use makes me nauseous.
I'm in such pickle right now. I have 1,500 for my new gaming pc which I want to build for BF3. Then again, 3D looks cool too. What to do my friends, what to do...
Thanks for the extra bubbles guys! :* :* :D Also, by mid 2012 i'll have the following games for my 3DS - 1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 2. Kid Icarus Uprising 3. Super Mario 3D 4. Mario Kart 3D 5. Star Fox 64 3D 6. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D 7. Resident Evil Revalations 8. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D 9. Dead or Alive: Dimensions 10.Assassin's Creed: Lost Legacy 11.Super Street Fighter IV 3D 12.Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle 13.Luigi's Mansion 2 14.Kingdom Hearts 3D 15.Paper Mario 3DS 16.Animal Crossing 3DS I only have two of those now because the launch lineup sucked, but I'm sure my investment will pay off! NGP can't compare. Probably few years down the line it will have some respectable titles but not just yet. :*
dammit where is my pokeball
Just click on his profile and ignore him like many others did. Believe me it is not worth the bother.
so no, count me out until these problems are fixed.
No Max, you're thinking of the 720.
I am really looking at buying a 3dtv just for uncharted 3. everyone that has seen that game in 3d has nothing but good things to say about it. The size sucks but I am sure they will have bigger size 3d tvs with the same capabilities like split screen gaming at a higher price. they probably just wanted to show the cheapest model at e3 to get people excited.
Yeah, I'm intersted in a 3DTV also, but I'm kind of iffy on this particular one. 24 inches is somewhat small, but that technology it has sounds awesome even though it's not 3D itself.
I use a 24 inch 1080p monitor for my PC and PS3. It has HDMI outputs and VGI stuff for my PC. I love it! Perfect size for in my bedroom to play on a chair on laying on bed. http://www.amazon.com/ViewS... It was 179.99 when I got it in November. This 3D monitor looks mighty tempting for my room.. great bundle, but I doubt I'll be able to get it. If it does come with PC input, i'm sold. Luckily, the viewsonic came with multiple HDMI/PCI cords.
I just bought two 21.5" 1080p LCD Monitor for $70 each: http://slickdeals.net/perma... For $30, I could get an LED. Now there is also 21.5" IPS panels (considered the best in color reproduction and I can vouch for that) with multi-touch for $240: http://slickdeals.net/perma... Granted the first option isn't of the same quality as the Sony TV, but is the 3D feature worth giving up on a 32-40" for less cost or even one of the option above for significantly less?
Very smart from Sony to support 3D as they have been doing.
Makes sense for them to say that as they've invested a lot in 3D tech on their TVs. Although affordability is an issue, they'll also need to solve glasses as well as the headache issues that 3D tends to bring. Until those issues are fixed, it'll remain a gimmick.
I thought 3d will be bad at first. But i went to best buy and it is pretty cool.
They have to do something i dont know one person who actually owns one,but 3d does look good just ultra slow uptake even hd took off way quicker.
By the title, I thought that it was saying that the new playstation 3dtv set has exploding problems.
Sorry but 3D is rubbish. Felt I wasted good money on sync transmitter and glasses
Its good on a big imax screen and on a 50in 3d tv but its not worth the extra money at the moment. Def wait because they will make new tech where u can watch different channels, make it better, and cheaper. 900 for a 50in isnt bad but id wait as 3d is getting new features so quickly. Id use it every once in a while gaming but it would hurt my eyes to beat un3 all w 3d. Better for occasional use and movies. Its really cool though. I actually LOVE the 3ds though. It blew my mind using it. I hope the ps vita slim adds 3d. #d is best for cinemas and handhelds imho.
3D set to explode? http://www.businessinsider.... http://www.reuters.com/arti... Who knows, maybe 3D gaming will gain some traction, but only time will tell.
I never thought that movies would be the real driving factor for 3D. In my opinion it will be games that brings about a 3D revolution. If it doesn't happen now due to limitations in technology it will happen in the future. The audience that games target is expanding, so eventually there will be a demand. I remember looking at some 3D demos for a large Mistubishi TV at my local Fry's. The most memorable was Mirror's Edge in 3D. Altering the depth and field of view of games adds an extra dimension ;P to the experience when you are the one in control of what you are viewing.
I agree. More and more 3D content is coming out in the way of games, and you really don't have to worry about who has glasses and who doesn't. The primary focus is yourself. So yes, it could work for gaming. As for films... The summer is underway, and a few big films have passed on 3D: The Hangover 2, X-Men First Class and Super 8. Besides which, the 3D blu-ray content is priced higher and quite pathecic in volume.
Wait until everyone has a HDTV first, thanks.
They are one and the same now. HDTVs with fast refresh rates are essentially 3DTVs once you slap the transmitter on.
I'd love to see Drive Angry in 3D
I'm thinking of getting that 3D bundle. I want to see these games in 3D for a change instead of reading about how cool they are in 3D.
drFUD I got it last week and its awesome.anyone that say 3D tv is rubbish should save their money and get one I did and i'll never regret it gaming in 3D tv is the best. Disagree all you want but its my opinion and I won't change it
All 3D tv's should come with headache pills.
3d tv's should be fixed so they don't require headache pills.
3D is a gimmick. Give me PS4 with holographic technology. Just use some kind of laser projector or SOMETHING in that direction. 3D technology is slow, insignificant, and bad for your eyes (read: migraine). It's like watching a Justin Bieber performance live.
No sure what the big deal is. Been watching 3D movies since they started and not a headache or throw up as of yet as of yet. You guys must have very weak constitutions.
