DGP: "Excited by the announcement of Top Gear’s infamous Test Track and Reasonably Priced Car in Forza Motorsport 4? Now you can see how frightfully faithful it will look in-game."
kind of a big F U to sony gran turismo players who were looking forward to Top Gear content on GT5 betrayal megaton
Isn't the TG track already in GT5? Heck, for that matter didn't Forza 3 have it as well? Just wasn't as detailed as it could have been. Edit: Thought the point was that GT5's been "betrayed" in some fashion? We're actually going to be arguing camera angles now? Really?
GT5 had the track Forza 3 did not, but the point of the video is showing the top gear cameras in the replay which GT5 did not have for some bizarre reason.
Details like that matter to Top Gear fans in capturing the feel of the show. Forza 4 also has the Kia C'eed, i.e. the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, to complete the experience.
I hope they add the older reasonable priced cars as well so I can get those lap times. That God awful Suzuki Liana and the Chevy.
the tracks there and theres a 3 event challenge witch is very lame but its not mcuh
There is top gear content on GT5...
Yeah but it doesn't capture the feel of the track. The camera placements were forgotten.
WOW! That look's freaking nuts!
Wide track is wide.
Retard is retarded, too.
yup yup, concur... edit: to Nososilentbob.
I'm not a huge Top Gear fan but you've got to give props to Turn 10 for the amount of Top Gear content they put into the game.
what car show are you a fan of then, please don't say fifth gear because I really couldn't deal with that kind of idiocy
What the hell are you guys on? PS-Fanboy LSD I can only assume. Name me ONE of the reasonably priced TG cars in GT 5. Oh, wait... It has none. Fail x 5000000 on PD for not doing that. Why else would you want the TG test track. And leave your dick inside the PS3 disc drive and not all over the comments, please.
So pretty....Just imagine next generation.
This time even the fans won't deny that this looks better than GT5. The feeling is much deeper.
Yeah I dont think it will be too hard for Turn 10 to actually raise the bar regarding the top gear experience. GT5s attempt at it was seriously disappointing, it needed the proper replay cameras, the 3 reasonably priced cars, the ability to fleece the car up and down the runway which is impossible in GT5 due to the invisible walls, and a list of the stigs best times in the tested cars would have been nice so we could beat them. Hopefully Turn 10 will get all this right.
Check it! this game is gonna rock.
If you want to copy a competitor and please your fans, get Logitech support in your game. Kinect, stickers, now camera angels, it doesn't matter if you like simulation racing. I don't race the Top Gear track that much, I'm addicted to Nordschleife. And I want Spa-Francochamps in GT5, and Donnington.
f the Nordschleife it eaten enough of my time
Sure...the feel of Top Gear is captured very well in Forza 4. However the Nurburgring with the day and night cycle and dynamic weather in GT5 is just...amazing.
Thats why it pays to have both consoles and get the best of each.
You know, if these guys (Turn10) upped their tyre model and physics (so the cars wouldn't become generic above 500-600 hp), kept the tracks their actual width (to real life), and had shut their f*cking mouth and not bashed GT (that's real pro guys) then I might have even considered buying the box for this arcade racer now that they have a decent steering wheel from Fantec. I have a lot of discussions (or had) with other racers in GT5 and a lot of them disagree; I wouldn't care if GT5 looked like GT4 as long as it had some magically delicious physics (although it is already top notch for the hardware). It seems looks are more important than how "real" the cars drive, which to me is a shame. I quite frankly wouldn't give two shits if they totally ripped the shadow model out of GT and kept the amazing lighting model (which by the way I suspect not to be "incompatible" with each other hence the zigzag effect half the time). Anybody that doesn't like GT5 for its sim experience is simply a gamer, and not an automotive enthusiast.
Arcade? Tell me what makes it arcade as opposed to a simulator?
Did you know that GT5 has a drive train engine, hence its able to accurately protray lets say S-AWC to its regular sibling in a Lancer or to that of Nissan's ATTESA. You ask as if haven't played neither Forza or GT. Forza has wider tracks to make online play more "fun". You know, I'm not a box guy for many reasons, but when there is something impressive I give props where such is due, ie Gears3 (amazing). The utter stupidity that spews in arguments against GT from MS/Forza boys is just that, stupidity. Look at EasyC for example..."fail x 5000000" wow buddy, good job!
@ Falaut I thought arcade was when you slam into another car with no consequences, mechanical or physical damage. Well, at least until you unlock the simulation feature at around lvl 25 or pending on the car. Seems odd to have minimal to no damage in a "sim" game where players bump off each other with no consequences. Let me know when GT5 has proper damage/physics when smashing into other cars and becomes a sim, until then, I will play Forza where you are subject to consequences when you make an error. How "sim" is GT5 when you are forced to have to drive on the outside of the vehicle for over 800+ cars? Not very sim like when you drive outside your car. I will take Forza's 500+ cars that ALL have interior views. Your kind LOVE to throw around the "arcade" reference a lot while completely ignoring the "arcadey" CORE features that are in GT5. Forza is by far more of a sim than GT will ever be.
To anyone who thinks GT5 is an arcade racer, just remember that Clutch slip is in this game but not any others out there.
ok is simple..u have never play with a sim
I think you mean track (singular). The only track that was widened was Nürburgring Nordschleife.
lol Forza + GT are not even close to proper SIM category....
other than that i stay with GT5
