Coming into the E3 event every year, the most important thing is the big reveals and that flood of information that comes after the wave of big reveals. While these reveals did take place this year such as the Wii U, most of this was already leaked onto the internet weeks and months ahead of the event which sort of took away from the aura of these announcements. The general vibe of E3 2011 was basically seeing and experiencing things that you had already expected, like the Wii U. Add that to the fact that Microsoft was light on hardcore as the focus was on Kinect, and Sony didn’t show much for the PlayStation 3 outside of Uncharted 3 and you will understand why E3 2011 will go down in the books as pretty much an “off year” for the event.
That is all okay however because there is always a next year and from my opinion, E3 2012 could be really beefy and possibly one of the better shows sense E3 2005 and E3 2006."
