For the fans of Wii U, this article--as you could guess by the title--is another person hating, lol.

Seriously, what did people want from Project Cafe? A standard controller with powerful HD graphics? What? We already have that - it's called the PS3 and 360. Nintendo likes doing things differently in order to differentiate itself from the competition. It'd be pointless having 3 powerful systems that play the same games the same way.

If you ask teh average gamer who owns a PS3, an Xbox 360, and a Wii when the last time they played it was what do you thing the answer would be? I would say 75+% would say tehy don't even touch the Wii. So yes Nintendo likes to do things different but what happens when 1)The novality wears of and 2) The other console surpass what their doing?

Software my friend, first party titles should be enough to differentiate themselves.

The controller seems too forced. What does it really bring to the table that will change how a game is played in practical terms.

Managing menus to take clutter off the screen, thats fine but why would I drop 300+ dollars to get that?

They should have refined WM+, packed some strong hardware and shipped every system with a 2nd generation WiimoteRemotePlus and a classic controller. That way they can continue to evolve motion gaming. Not abandon it. We haven't even seen how a StarFox could could benifit on WM+ and we've already jumped to large, clunky, and useless screens.

And the WiiRemote didn't seemed forced?

We just got the option to use the Classic Controller for our FPSs last year. 4 years after the Wii launch.

I agree that the controller is far too big. 6.2 inches is totally unnecessary. I'd be fine with something PS Vita size.

Smash Bros was announced. We know a lot of 3rd party games that are going to be on there. Pikmin 3 was announced last night for it. I \ agree that it's not much but there was some software there.

"And the WiiRemote didn't seemed forced? "
Well its true that it isn't always smartly utilized.
But
It adds a lot to a sword fighting game (RS2, SS)
it also revitalized light gun games (though that was a little annoying when every dam game became one...)
and imo IR is better then Dual Analog.

The Wiimote did have its benefits over standard controllers.

Playing Smash Brothers looks painful on the WiiU controller, and it doesn't help that GC controllers are no longer compatible...

Well I do agree with you, but Microsoft and Sony has a habit of copying off of Nintendo, look at the move and kinect LOL. In a sense they are playing the same games slightly the same way. Microsoft out of the 3 is the most unoriginal company. Look at the Avatars!!! just like the miis. Why are they making Kinect sports when everybody knows its a rip-off of Wii Sports!!! The Move is just a carbon copy of the Wii controller. Plus Sony treat it as a secondary product, its just optional nothing more. In a way Nintendo still controls the game industry, because their ideas influence others to copy them. Nintendo made this generation of console what it is today. Microsoft should take a look at its back catalog of original xbox games that should of been sequels or reboots for the 360. Sony did just that and now look at the results. I can't wait til Nintendo set the record straight with the Wii U.
