Video Games based on movies = generally bad. Video Games based on movies based on existing properties = generally even worse. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.....

From what I read and an video interview on this subject of Video Games based on movies. The game has it's own story, apart from the movie. The only thing similar is the setting being in the WW2 era. :)

Funny ... they have one picture for PS3 and Xbox. And the rest are Wii and DS. The Wii and DS have totally different game mechanics (Saturday morning cartoons) from what the PS3 and Xbox version is presenting.

Understood... but it's still a companion piece to be released alongside the movie. Not to say that it can't be good but I've heard many developers complain about having to rush out a product to go along with the movie. One of the reasons Batman Arkham Asylum was able to be so beloved was because it wasn't a companion for Dark Knight. Rocksteady was able to take more time to polish and refine the game.

The fact that it is a departure from the movie is a good thing in my opinion but will it have the polish of a game that doesn't have the release of the movie determine its deadline?

That tends to be the problem, the games are rushed to come out along with the heat of a movie release. Usually games that don't have that issue, such as Arkham Asylum and (does anyone remember?) Hulk: Ultimate Destruction(in my opinion is one of THE BEST SUPERHERO GAMES EVER DONE) turn out great.

However I also think superhero games only work for some superheroes.

There has yet to be a really good Superman game. I see it being possible, but it would have to be open world...and I do mean world...and possibly other planets too, to get the bad guys that could in fact, beat the hell out supes.

To be honest I don't see this working out great, but I don't know a LOT about Capt so I very well could be wrong.
