NowGamer reports from Konami's VIP E3 event, that Kojima Productions has revealed that MGS 3D is too big for 3DS carts, so Nintendo had to make a brand new cart size just for the game.
do some of you guys NOT read the articles?
What does Shackdaddy836 saying "Excitement" have to do with not reading the article?
I'm excited for all the content. Wasn't there like a camo maker in the game too? That sounds fun :)
So the standard size is 2GB cards? For some reason I thought it was more than that, probably cos the PSVita is meant to use 8GB cards. Still, better solution than splitting the game over several cards.
I could of swore I read somewhere that the 3ds was capable of using 8gb cartridges.
yes it can but they don't plan on doing so right off the bat as time goes on little by little they increase the size like in the DS
as the chips get cheaper to purchase for them.
@Dramscus It's actually more to help show a nice progression of graphics as the console's life span continues.
Menech, no, the capacity of a storage medium has no direct effect upon graphics.
But it's unnecessary and too early. They'll probably go 4gb max and no more.
I can't believe that this is already a problem, atleast they can upgrade as needed though
aww thats too bad.. they'll find a way
" Kojima Productions has revealed that MGS 3D is too big for 3DS carts, so Nintendo had to make a brand new cart size just for the game."
Wow, people don't even read the extract on N4G now?
i dont give random sites hits
Yes, but it says that Nintendo have made a bigger cart in the extract on N4G...
No 2nd analog stick for the 3DS = auto fail. Right?
I'm really surprised that Nintendo didn't learn from the PSP that a second stick is important...
whats worse...they were originally thinking of adding another stick. Nintendo had given a reason, but i forget what they said....comical at best. A 2nd analog is needed for proper camera control..the touch screen a lone lacks the resistance of a stick, it's much more comfortable too. shame.
I agree, I played Kingdom Hearts on the DS and the camera controls are horrible, its such a major hindrance and makes the game so awkward, a 2nd analogue stick would have worked wonders
Why does it not surprise me. Hopefully Vita has the better development team in Konami, & 3DS gets the dreggs, or smething like what Zipper did with Socom & Slant 6. What the hell is wrong with Nintendo? They love there own proprietry catridge formats due to the fact that 3rd party developers will have to pay them over inflated prices to put there games on them, they fail these 3rd parties therafter as they give them no development tips or tools to take advantage of there machines, which always have technical limitations that require vast knowledge of how the innards work to get the most out of them & do tricks & cheats to get visual & other technical gains.
Um, they just made a new cartridge for the game, problem solved. No big deal.
ppl just dont read article at all.
You do realise that Sony has only used Media Formats that they have a stake in too don't you? This isn't just Nintendo that do this. They do it so they don't owe royalties to anyone.
Don't worry PSVita will be able to do it. Put MGS where the series belongs, PLAYSTATION.
Yet the series didn't begin on a Sony Platform so it doesn't belong there either. So many seem to forget this fact.
He did say MGS :) the Solid series did start on the Playstation, but the Metal Gear franchise started on the Master System, so technically you're both right
Yup solid did start on the playstation and thats where it got all of its popularity. I never heard of the other metal gear game but once i got mgs that made me go back and read the stories rom the other games an i've been in love since:)
lol at the disagrees.
Do people not read the bloody article Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater is the first and only game confirmed to use the 4GB 3DS cartridge, and after an impressive eyes-on look at the game running at E3, it's not difficult to see why.
No thank you.. If you want to complain about your game being too big for a 3DS cartridge you might as well try to make the graphics look like Resident Evil Revelations and also try to REMAKE the game instead of giving us a lame port with worse graphics than the PS2
