Game Podunk | The Wii U Explained

Game Podunk Editor, Jason Clement rounds up all the details of Wii U from the Nintendo press conference, "It would seem the rumors before E3 about the console being similar in look and size to the 360 are spot-on; the similarities between the two are definitely there. As for console's capabilities and specs, not a whole lot is known at the moment but what we do know is that it will be capable of outputting games in HD (by use of HDMI), ranging from 480i to 1080p."

What I find funny is that the PSV in combination with the PS3 could potentially work like the Wii U (if SONY adds a update to the PS3 that would allow it) except that the PS Move and other accessories wouldn't work with the PSV like the Wii mote does with the Wii U controller. This not a farfetched idea.

To me the Wii U is like a Wii 1.5 than the next gen release. It has gone HD which the Wii should have back at launch. I am unsure about this but Nintendo have a year to convince me is it worth it. ATM the third party ports are great an all for new gamers but for the people already have a 360/PS3 what is the point. The Zelda tech demo looks cool but I need more. Nintendo you need to generate new IPs
