Music in Games and the Emotional Connection

GP blogger, Shane writes, "Currently the first game that comes to my mind when thinking about music in video games is World of Goo. Most gamers probably have not played this game, and that alone is a shame. The music in this game is fantastic. Every time I play this game it makes me feel a part of the fictional World of Goo balls. I feel the sense of urgency when the music quickens, and i feel at ease when the music calms down. Not in years has a game really made me want to or download an entire soundtrack of its music. Not only is the music great but each level goes perfectly with the tone and feel of the music. I get a strong connection with the game and each song speaks to a different emotion while playing or simply listening."
