knowing UK retailers, gamers there will find better deals closer to launch

MaximusPrime2420d ago (Edited 2420d ago )

Well dayum. I was gonna get the 3G version, but now I'm hearing that 3G Online gaming isn't going to happen? So I'm not too sure what the point is in spending the extra £50. What are other people thinking?

@SonyNGP, yeah I was thinking, already paying for a data package for my Windows 7 Phone so, is there REALLY any need to pay for 3G for PS Vita...hmm.

@Rajman below, yeah good luck with that mate. And watch UK Customs demolish your wallet with import tax. I made that mistake when imported the original PSP from Japan ahead of the UK launch. They charged me over £50 in import fee's. If you live in the UK you should be well aware of taxes and VAT. £230 is an absolute bargain. Take it from someone who bought a 3DS on day one.

SonyNGP2420d ago

Going with Wifi. I'm already paying for my home internet and data package for my phone. I don't need a third one.

stuntman_mike2420d ago

im sticking with wifi only i dont see the need for 3g for myself when wifi is just as good and alot of places now have free wifi spots.

supremacy2420d ago

Same here, but also more or less because im not too fond of AT&T.

Had they said we have different plans with various carriers like verizon, metro and such then perhaps things would have sounded much better.

But regardless i can live without 3g.

stuntman_mike2420d ago

@ supremacy
I'm in the UK, they haven't said a what carriers but the equivalent of AT&T is BT in the UK rip off merchants.

Spitfire_Riggz2420d ago

Yeah without being able to play multiplayer really its only to download stuff. NO thanks

jneul2420d ago

now all i need is the money:-D 229 IS A BARGAIN!!

rajman2420d ago (Edited 2420d ago )

Wifi version £230? Converting that to dollars and its over $370...yet its only $250 in the US o_0 Should have been more like £200.
I'll be importing mine from the US, hopefully games remain region free

abc12332420d ago

The beauty of the tax system >_<

I_find_it_funny2420d ago

Yea BUT, I heard a good rumor that the $500 3D Monitor bundle will retail in Europe for ~400 EUR.
500usd to 400eur, no taxes here I guess?

What a ripoff I want my VITA for 200 EUR

abc12332420d ago (Edited 2420d ago )

It's not really a ripoff considering what you're getting. Compared to other regions we may have drawn the short straw but that isn't to say that it's not good value for money even at £230

Agree with rajman, if it's cheaper overall and there's no downsides in terms of region-locking then I may just import.

xtreampro_REVENGE!2420d ago

You live in the UK why are you worrying how much it is in the Us if you convert it? Learn how to save and spend money then you'll never have money problems.

rajman2420d ago

Because we will end up paying more...isnt it obvious

SuperLupe2420d ago

I still cant believe Sony managed to pull it off, 250$ ?! How am I supposed to resist ? lol.

Tuxedoassassin2420d ago (Edited 2420d ago )

Don´t resist, buy it.

Star512420d ago

I dont care what they did. All i know is im not waiting on any slimmer sku. This is a day one purchase. Now comes the persistant visits to gamestop, as i continually add dollars and change to my preorder on system and launch titles.
