After Sony’s presentation, tomorrow’s show with Project Café is going to have to be unbelievable for Nintendo to be able to upstage Sony.
Dust 514 was the major new announcement on PS3 Games, no one saw that coming to be exclusive and for PS Move and PS Vita compatibility. EVE Online is awesome and almost popular as WoW on PC MMO games. http://www.eveonline.com/ Can't wait to see more footage about Dust 514. If they can deliver on PS3, I will be subscribed to play Dust 514 on PS3. The Beta will start in this year.
dust doesnt have ps vita compat. Only pc. Nobody said vita
actually vampiric its being made for ngp(vita) aswell quote: Dust 514 is a PlayStation 3 exclusive game according to CCP, who appeared at Sony's E3 2011 press briefing. The game, announced a years ago at GDC Europe, will feature Move support, a dedicated Home space, and extend over to the NGP http://psp.ign.com/articles...
Thats a mistake. That was never mentioned at the press conference. Its pc compatible. And the company never said so either
I think you guys are talking about that Ruin game, which should have gotten more show time.
honestly i was a tad underwhelmed by them since the amount of new titles announced was ho-hum. also the 3D push was a tad annoying. the 3d tv set looked nice, but not for me. still, leaps and bounds better than the MS show. jesus that was painful to watch as a core gamer.
Move and 3d were getting pushed to high heaven. I own a 3 d tv and own move but that was one of my own pet peevs with sony's. I suppose if anybody has to push their products, they do
@ Why o why; yeah I tend to find that annoying too as MS does that a heck of a lot with Kinect but then again this is a big event for the press and businesses are expected to push the stuff they're selling. Mentioning the names of products and services multiple times is basic stuff in marketing so it's to be expected. I thought MS's was pretty bad TBH and didn't think much of Sony's though it was better. I was really expecting to see The Last Guardian and others shown.
Sony's conference totally disappointed me... simply because it was the one i expected the most. PSVita looks like a good handheld with a good price, but seems to have a weak launch lineup made of 2 or 3 interesting games (Uncharted, new RPG looks ok, LBP)... Are those games even going to be release at launch? Bioshock was a good surprise, but probably be released in a year or two from now. ... and WTF, where the hell are the PS3 games? Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and starhawk we all knew about. Where are the rest of the games? Microsoft, Ubisoft and EA conferences were more or less what i expected from them. I didn't have high hopes for them. I never thought i was going to say this, but Nintendo is probably going to steal E3.
It's waaay to early to criticize the lack of a robust library for a system that has a half year to even come out. With only the announced games so far, Vita seems to have more games going for it than 3DS as is, which says good things for its potential release lineup. And the games shown for it are very strong looking for the most part. I agree about the lack of PS3 stuff, nothing new was announced, and the new stuff shown of the titles we already knew about was a bit lackluster. Overall this E3 seems pretty boring so far. Let's hope tomorrow brings some interesting stuff.
Dust 514 is a new one, but yes not much in the way of new games. I think they wanted to just let the Vita take the spotlight. I would expect to see more for the PS3 at TGS.
dust 514 - Shoot MMO Ruin - Diablo type game. ^ All I needed to hear about.
LOL! Kobe Bryant haha.. What was he playing?
I respectfully disagree to an extent.
Lame site what do you expect
I believe that the best ones at E3 will be Sony and Nintendo. Sony really dropped the bombshell by announcing that the NGP will cost the same as the 3DS. I still have a hard time believing that the NGP costs the same as the 3DS.
Yeah I was really surprised by that too. With the awesome specs, great line up, and equal price, I think Nintendo has a real fight on on their hands in the handheld market. This should keep both sides on their toes... so we all win!
Agreed, I never in a million years would have guessed it would be priced so low. I can't wait to get one.
@xxLuckyStrike I wouldn't count chickens before they hatch with Nintendo. They refuse to use a loss leader strategy (not necessarily bad) so their new console could be very dated from day one. If it doesn't have very improved graphics over Ps3 360, a good online strategy, and a larger storage media than dvd, it could very easily be a swing and a miss. Nintendo has to make this console for the future and not today because if they don't they might as well pack it in and go home once Sony and MS come to the table.
i dont know why they even paid that kobe guy to appear. most gamers or journalists at E3 couldnt give 2 shts about basketball . they shouldve just got that one commercial VP guy or something and use the extra money to give everyone in attendance a free $50 psn card
You would be surprised how many people there actually care about basketball and other sports.
I found both Sony's and MS's to be disappointing, though Sony's was definitely the better of the two. I really hope that Nintendo can amaze us with Cafe or else this entire E3 will be a letdown for me.
MS conference is what i expected (didn't have high hopes), but i expected a much better conference from Sony... Beside Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 and starhawk, where are the rest of the PS3 games?
Sonys conference featured a lot of different things, but the parts after the conference is what made the show for me. Ratchet and clank, twisted metal, pixel junk sidscroller, starhawk, uncharted, resistance, infamous, sly4, dust, god of war collection, ico collection, as well as huge host of 3rd party exclusives and free content. Not to mention the large Move inclusion in a heap of games that I didn't expect. Add on top of this, the intro to MS conference of MW3, Tomb Raider, Future Soldier, Mass Effect, as well as games shown at Ubisoft and EA, like Assassins Creed and Battlefield. Yeah where are those ps3 games.........
"see Nintendo struggle to convince people of the continued value of the 3DS." this made me laugh. This is what people said about the ds. During the holidays the system will get a price drop. Its pretty much already been planned for with the price drops of everything else
The 3DS has a software problem right now. Once that is gone and they have some games for it I expect it will do much better.
Both Sony and MS sucked but ... Two things really stood out in Sony's presentation: - Vidas price.of $249 for WiFi version - Split screen 3D Sony is in the lead now IMO but from a business perspective, MS wins it with Kinnect Disneyland, Sesame Street, and Dance Central 2.
I would hardly say that Sony "rocked". Their show was full of decent content but no megaton announcements that people were expecting. At least Microsoft, as mediocre as their press conference was, finished on a high with Halo 4. Sony ended with nothing. I can't help but think that they should have held back their handheld announcement for their press conference.
Yeah so far at E3 only EA seems to have a done a good job at presentation. MS did well for their Kinect brand but let the console side down a bit which makes it a disappointing show from a console gamer standpoint. They did really well if their goal was to promote Kinect. I'm happy to hear about Halo 4 but what they showed was "Chief is awake and headed for that scary glowing thing. Oh noez!" Sony showed us Uncharted 3 which was great and then flopped around with Move crap and their 3d TV bundle, which was sort of lame. At least hey revealed the Vita's $249 price which helped them somewhat but overall it was a pretty lame conference. Ubisoft's conference was beyond awful. Mr. Caffeine was a goddamned ear-ache. Konami's was a bunch of HD remakes (sure decent ones but c'mon HD remakes are your main thing? WTF? That's budget stuff!) and an engine demo that looked okay but that's it. Nothing on MGS Rising. I'd say Capcom, Square Enix, and Activision, and Nintendo have their work cut out for them. I don't have high hopes for THQ or 2K. They rarely do much at these shows.
