why switch at all? real gamers will own both :S

ksense2745d ago

in 3 months u will see

consumers switch back to ps3 after finding out there are way more games and exclusives that cannot be missed on the ps3

jc485732745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

No, 360 will get hacked.

Edit: Again

death2smoochie2745d ago

The average consumer game player buys mostly multi-platform games as seen by demographic software sales statistics.

Rattlehead202745d ago

The best games this year are multiplats.

captain-obvious2745d ago

i stopped right here "OXM UK"

Menech2745d ago

Microsoft has a little more experience when it comes to security then Sony.

You know due to controlling the platform that most hackers on the planet attack Windows OS.

I find it extremely unlikely Microsoft will make the rookie mistakes Sony would.

Maybe back in the days of Windows 98 but not any more son.

"UK consumers switch from PS3 to Xbox 360 over PSN hack fears"

That so? Well how come even after the PSN hacks and my Phat PS3 dieing on me last week i went out and bought yet another PS3? Am i doing some thing wrong? Am i supposed to 'swich 2 teh xbux becus teh psnzz az been acked?'

Active Reload2745d ago

"No, 360 will get hacked. "

It's been hacked. Anyway, I don't think people switched because of trust, they've switched for the better online.

Sunhammer2745d ago

*looks at source* ...Nope, not biased at all.

Im a real gamer and i don't own both.

fluffydelusions2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

board gamer? j/k we all know you are PC only lol. Personally, I don't know how you could sit by and watch all the great games pass you by that don't hit PC. I tried being PC only at one point but I just couldn't do it.

marinelife92745d ago

I don't like to pay to play online so I won't be switching.

They are going to miss out on a lot of great games.

Omar912745d ago

Wizziokid: I honestly dont know how you got so many disagrees. You are absolutely right

Wizziokid2745d ago

I have no idea tbh :) it's N4G it's always full of surprises

aceitman2745d ago

It looks like ps3 is is still selling better over there.

jammy_702745d ago

LOGICWINS2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

And thats there choice and their free to do so...I know I'm never getting a 360 as long as theres a sub for online play.

"why switch at all? real gamers will own both :S"

No Wizziokid, I CHOOSE not to have a 360 because most 360 exclusives don't interest me. That doesn't make me any less of a gamer than anyone else.

rebirthofcaos2745d ago

same here, if purcahse a new console will be ps4 or nintendo

fluffydelusions2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

A few 360 games interest me but I still don't own one mainly because between PC and PS3 my wallet is raped by games enough as it is.

AceofStaves2745d ago

That's the case for me as well. My gaming budget is limited, so I have to make sure I choose the games and consoles that suit my gaming interests and play style.

Being a 'true gamer' has nothing to do with the consoles you own. It's about your attitude towards gaming and fellow gamers. True gamers transcend the console war foolishness and enjoy the hobby for what it is - entertainment.

PantherDST2745d ago

I'm skeptical that this a true report... Could it be true, Yes, but I doubt an increase in internet searches equates to a loss in consumer trust. Maybe in the short term, but long term people will get over it.

dirigiblebill2745d ago

It's just one survey, not necessarily representative of the market as a whole. I think it's fair to assume that a few people have made the switch though.

blackburn102745d ago

Exactly. According to Sony there was no mass exodus from PS3 to 360. A single poll means nothing.

yamzilla2745d ago

lol....if you switched to anything, why wouldn't you go to pc, going from ps3 to 360 is a huge downgrade

going to pc from ps3 is a massive upgrade

fluffydelusions2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

Except you'd be missing out on too many games that will never make it to PC. E.g. UC, GOW, TLG, FF, LA Noire, RDR, and the list goes on and on.

yamzilla2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

but you're missing out on 99.9% of
mmo, rts, tbs,4x strategy, space sim, flight sim, true sim racers, and all the free mods, maps, total conversions

personally i own a sweet gaming pc, ps3, 360, ds, wii, iphone, ps2 (playing disgea), and a super nintendo still.....

but if i had to burn all but one, every console would go

pc gets 95% of all console games, AND is the only system that is actually backward compatible going back 20 years

consoles only get 60% of pc games and are stuck in last gen and only last gen, they only play a handful of ps2/xbox games and barely any ps1 game

hell, i can emulate every ps2 game practcly in true 1080p on my pc

guess what

in 3-4 years i will be emulating every ps3 and 360 exclusive in 1600p's always does everything and it's always next gen in here!

Croash2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

Uhh, maybe because there are games that simply ARE NOT available on PC?
I could say that for pretty much any platform right now.

People don't only choose their platforms, they choose their games.

death2smoochie2745d ago (Edited 2745d ago )

Don't kid yourself. The PS3 and Xbox360 are closer in terms of overall graphics and power than you think.
Both systems cannot run a fraction of its games in 1080p above 30fps using real Anti-Aliasing.
How many games on these consoles use higher floating point HDR FOR ITS GAMES?
Use of real time lighting and effects while keeping 720p resolution?(which is a 7 year old resolution by PC standards)
They are almost the same.
The biggest difference in systems is the step up to the PC from consoles, NOT moving from one console to another.
